Okay, well, I've been to three cities in Italy.

Toronto, Brindisi, and Rome.

The first two were absolutely boring. We went to Brindisi for two weeks, over Christmas. The captain tried telling us that it was impossible for us to drink the town dry, and not to try. Well you know what?

WE PROVED HIM WRONG!

That's right, Christmas Eve in Brindisi, there wasn't a drop of alcohol to be found! We drank it all! WE RULE!

Um, sorry.

Anyway, Rome was pretty kewl, but we didn't get to spend enough time there, in my opinion. Just a few hours. I did get to see the Colleseum (I don't know how to spell it :stressed: ) and that Tomb of the Unknown Soldier or whatever. Oh, and the palace thingy. That was pretty awesome.

Oh, I got to see the Vatican too. It was big. That's all I remember.

I really wish I could've seen more of Rome. Overall Italy was a pretty neat place, but the pizza was weird. It didn't necessarily come with tomato sauce, and if you wanted pepperoni you had to say "salami" 'cuz if you said pepperoni you'd get peppers. And they had SEAFOOD on pizza!

I posted this in your welcome thread, but I've been through your city (Rimini) and San Marino. During that visit, I also went to Rome, the Vatican, Siena (which I detested -- beautiful but impossible to navigate), Paestum, Napoli and Venezia -- but strangely we missed out on Firenze.

I lived in Slovenia for two years (just after it's declaration of independence from Serbia). While Slovenia was quite modernized compared to the rest of that area (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia), there were still a few things you could not get. We would travel over to Italy in order to obtain some items. The country is beautiful, but the true beauty is the heart of the people. They were so warm and hospitable. These past two summers our family has hosted exhange students for two weeks from Italy. It was a joy to have each of them. I have nothing but good memories of our travels there.

I've been to Rome ... very nice. I love Italy ... and little old italian ladies ... they're so adorable ... I guess I'm slightly biased in thier favor, but they are so vivacious. Plus Italians in general have awesome hair ... so pretty ... and I have a bit of a hair fettish ... that and all the awesome roman history combined with gelato make Italy awesome.

That was our whirlwind "see Italy in two weeks" tour. I was very, very tired. Oh, and we also drove the Amalfi coast, where I plowed into the seawall thanks to a tourbus. Fortunately the car was still driveable, and we had the LDW. :thumb:

Maybe I'll get sent to Rome for my theology if I'm lucky. :thumb:
