Just thought that someone might want to check this out. There are these two programs I have been using for awhile now. THey are called Spyblaster and Spyguard. They are both free from http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
THe spyguard stops your registry from being edited by potential Browser Hijackings and other spywares. SpyBlaster pervents about 98% of spyware from being installed w/o your permission. They both run in the background for live action detection. If you run Internet Explorer i would recommend you check these out. They also work along w/ firefox, though firefox is more stable.

This place is specially dedicated to helping people protect their computers from malicious online hackers and has plenty of advice as well as several free (and really small!) downloads -- especially for users of Windows XP, which seems to have plenty of security holes. I highly recommend looking at it.
