I go for the "I'm one penny richer!" *hops up and down excitedly*. Hey...One time at Knotts Berry Farm I was able to get $5 in change just be riding a rolar coaster over and over in the same spot. How'd I get all that? Well...the floor mat was broken in one section so everyone's money from their pockets was stuck under there. I had to wash all the stickyness off but hey...money is money.

I'm the person who walks around the penny and keeps going. The whole hygiene thing is something else. That comes into play when someone I know tries to pick it up.

"No! You don't know where that penny's been!"

*hehe*

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I'm the type of person that in a happy mood picks up the penny, realizes it's dirty and I don't want it and then tries to make anybody in my vicinity take the penny as a gift. If I'm in a not so happy mood I note how the dirt makes picking it up not worth the effort unless someone else tries for it ... then we go back to plan a.

Most of the time, I just take it. When you get a penny from a source other than the US mint, you really don't know where it's been. There's at least a fair chance that someone picked it up off the ground and used it to pay for something.

I’m usually someone who would pick the penny up…

But not to keep. I usually try to see how long I can get it to roll on it’s side or spin, then I just leave it wherever it lands. Or if there is a fountain or pool of water near by... In it goes!!! ^_^

Yep, that’s the way it’s done.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I fall into the third category. Yes, I know-- there was no third category, but I think there should be.

Category number three) There's nothing gross about that penny, but I'm not going to pick it up because the value of US currency is so inflated that that measily penny doesn't have enough gold backing it up to make it worth more than the bottle cap in my pocket.

Yeah, that's me. :) Just kidding. I'm not really that cynical. Or atleast not often. I generally don't pick up pennies because I don't ever see them. You see, I'm the chick who drops all those pennies y'all are considering picking up.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I would most definitely pick up the penny. You never know when you might be one penny short when you go to buy a mountain dew and then you realize, "hey, I just picked a penny up off the street, I do have enough!" So yeah, pick up those pennies folks.

I run for the penny...and get beaten to it by my little brother. XD He's a penny maniac.

But when he's not around, or I actually manage to see it and grab it first, I often do two things--inspect how shiny it is, and look at the year. Either way I put it in my pocket afterwards, and often forget about it...XD

I the kind of person who picks up a nickle just outside the church and then goes inside, sneaks into the closet and hides the nickle in the collection basket so they'll find it the next day!

okay so I was a bit bored that day... usually I leave pennies alone, unless its a really shiney one. then I most likelye play with it for a while or just put it in my pocket or give it away or throw it, depeding on what kind of mood I'm in.

You should see my brother. Touch a penny on the ground and he'll clobber you. He collects them, and then washes them. ";;; Yes, it's true. He'll gather them all up, fill up a sink with water, put some antibacterial soap in it, and wash them while he's singing his little songs. I love him. Image

I would pick it up. Who knows, it could be a 1922 penny worth a lot of money. Besides, I am a little short on cash. "A penny saved is a penny earned" in my book.
And I am not someone who will walk around it if it is face down. There is no such thing as bad luck.

I'm really the thrid kind of person. I usually just leave it there and not care about it. I mean if you pick up loads of pennies they can really weigh alot and that can be a drag sometimes.
