locked thread apology

Postby starfire » Fri Oct 01, 2004 2:33 pm

Hi! I just wanted to apologize for starting a theological thread! I didn't know that it was against the rules. Thanks to the mods for preventing an argument thread! That really wasn't my intention! Anyway please be patient as I'm new. Thanks.

it's okay; even experienced users start threads that get locked. I think one of the best things about CAA is the way that everyone is considerate- even to the n00bs.

Aye, the mods have to do this stuff every day, I've made a thread aht's been locked before, acutally, I've probably made about 5 threads that've been locked before,
anyways since is was purely and accident, I doubt it's a a big deal.

Thanks everyone! You are so nice! First site I've ever seen where people have :wow!: manners! Anyway, nice to know other people have done the same! By the way I need a nickname for my profile so if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them!

::sits up straight, and acts prim and proper:: Har har. Yeah, CAA is a great community.

Ah, a nickname, eh? Hmm.. well, I'm not really that good at giving nicknames. Yojimbo gave me mine [Hopeslayer] while we were talking on AIM... That is what you're speaking of, yes? The little piece of alterable text underneath the optional avatar? ... Whoa, that was a confusing sentence. Hope you can dig out the meaning of it. : ) I'll think of some nicknames for you. Meanwhile, I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone here beats me to it and gives you a spectacular one. May luck grace you.

Hey! It was a theological question with no, well questionable content! Anyway, yeah I guess that's why they have the theological section on another site(hits head on keyboard). :hits_self Won't happen again(I hope) Well, anyway how long have you been on CAA? Nice talking to you. :) BYE!

It's a teriblely cold and somachache inducing experience to look at a thead you have made and see that horid padlock siting cruely next to it.
It happened to me but I now see the error I made and have learned from that unpleasant but nessisary experience.

Welcome to the CAA, the land of oportunity.

As for a nickname, how about... Oliver, or Nick, or Petunia, or Randolf, or Ulrick the destroyer, or Bill, or...

My suggestion for a nickname would be...hm...emerald gluestick, effervescent mustard, or eh...I don't know...xebec. Yeah.

As for me, I went gravedigging something awful when I first joined 'cause no one else was on late to talk to me and I got bored. Inkhana got a little annoyed, I think, but she was wonderfully gracious about it. Enjoy your stay here! ^__^

Don't worry about it! I didn't read the sticky posts, so I didn't know that was against the rules either. I never made a theology thread, but I didn't know not to until weeks after I joined. It's no biggie!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Thank you for the apology, though as people have said, we don't hold it against you.

Also, having one of your threads locked does not necessarily reflect badly upon you at all. Some members start legitimate threads that are locked due to arguments caused by others.
