*Reads cbwing's post*

Though this is true, I see no problem with a mushy post. This thread has gone too far in the mush to turn back now, I say mush forward.....*Que new battle cry* MUSH!!!!!!!!!

However, I would like to add one particular admiration, the Bannana-Chan, being she personally had to take on a very trying issue (Which I won't get into, being it's not my place) which dealt with something which hits very close to home with me. She stood strong, and true and I greatly admire that.

And while we are on the subject, Shoorajin, being he's a doctor, and I have great respect for doctors.

God Bless,
Archan

I don't know anyone here personally, nor does anyone really know me...so my statement will be more of a general admiration than anyone specific.

I admire anyone who writes...since they have the strength to continue doing what I gave up...

*sighs* Looking back at cbwing's post, he had the idea. That's what I wanted this whole thread to be about. Not just randomly admiring a person for the fact that they're our friend. Yes, our friends are great, but can't we think of something a little bit deeper that we really truly admire about a person? Not just because they're nice to us, or their sig is creavtive, not that I'm saying those are bad things, but a little bit more into the person. What you really really like about them.

Please, I hate to sound mean, if I do, but please, if you're going to make idle comments like that, do it somewhere else and save this thread for the people who can see and can appreciate the really admirable things about others.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

You're right. You're both right, although I have trouble understanding the exact meaning of words sometimes. I didn't want to name just anybody, I really tried to think of why I admire the people I mentioned. Then again it's kind of an awkward feeling when you leave some of your friends out. Sorry if I got the two definitions mixed up.

Precisely...when people start listing those that they admire, there is the temptation to include those that are not genuinely worthy of admiration, just so that they won't "feel bad." :eyeroll:

Of course there is nothing wrong with that in practice, but I for one will not say that I admire someone unless I respect them beyond the mere fact that we happen to be friends; in fact, I barely know some of the people on my list, except that they possess certain admirable traits (like being a full-time minister, for example).

I admire Omega Amen because of the statements he's made in the past about the reasons he doesn't like fan service. His stance are stong, heart felt, and I can tell that he truly honors women--- something alot of people don't do these days. For that, I admire you Omega!

Does that qualify as "deeper"? ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I admire a classmate of mine for her strength and kindness. She is 24, has MS, her husband is in jail until December and she has a son she takes care of. She also lost a scholorship to go to a four year state school because she has MS and couldn't run anymore. She doesn't sit and wallow in self pity and she does what she can do and has a wonderful disposition doing it, even with all that she is facing, daily struggling to get around and the eventual progression of her MS. I truly admire her.

Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!
