I don’t think it’s just you Nia-Chan. I got the same impression when I read the ‘interpretation’ of Volts eye. It was almost like I was reading my horoscope in the paper. Much of what was said could be easily applied to just about anyone.
Discernment: As I understand it.
It is the special gift whereby the Spirit allows certain Christians to know with assurance whether some behavior is of God or of Satan.
Biblical references where Spiritual Discernment can be seen.
Acts 5:3-6: Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God."
When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. Then the young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him.
Acts 16:16-18: Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her.
[quote="cbwing0"] More than just looking into someone'e eyes, you can tell a lot about a person just by the way that they react when you look into their eyes. Most people will look away, or stare at the ground. Only a small percentage of people will actually look back for any length of time. In my opinion, this says a lot about the confidence and self-esteem of the average person]
True, this is the kind of psychology that law enforcement interrogators and the such, are trained to recognize and use. But it is not a spiritual gift. A spiritual gift cannot be learned.
On another note, I will continue to keep you in my prayers Volt.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
