I'm kind of torn about Teen Titans. On teh one hand, I think it's cool and pretty well made, plus it rememinds me of the animated superheros that I loved growing up. On the other hand, I really wish they'd take it a little more seriously. I mean, it's all good, but just about every episode feels like it could have been better if the creators would push a little harder to go beyond the "kids superhero cartoon" show.

That said, I got sucked into Terra's whole story MUCH more than I thought I would. I was genuinely sad to see her meet her tragic fate, and I'm the sort of guy who usually feels ripped off when someone DOESN'T meet a tragic fate.

Also, I wish Robin wasn't so superhuman-ly strong. I mean, this kid who shouldn't have any super powers AT ALL save for a nifty belt can take punches and falls that could kill anyone and just shake it off. It's just not very true to the character

Okay, I'll admit it. When no one else is here, and I'm home all alone, I watch it....

Having read Teen Titans comics for a while, I knew the Terra thing was coming. It's a good story, though.

I like Teen Titans... but I didn't know there was a comic of it.

<-- is known to be dense and 'out of the loop' at times. .-.;;

I like all the characters. Like someone else already said I think, each character gives something different. (I wont go into a list since others already have.)

I'm proud to say I've seen every episode so far. :D Though thats probably not saying much compared to most people though. ;-;

Teen Titans rocks, simply rocks.

I hated it when it first came out, I'll be honest, but once Slade got involved, I was hooked from then on.

I even have the japanese version of the intro song.....yes, I've gone that far. Fun Fact: The intro song and the end credit song from the cartoon are in fact the same song, they just took the chorus from the original song and made it the end credit song, clever little rascles CTN is huh?

Anyways, they rock. And I did see the episode with Red X, very groovey.

I love the Teen Titans. I was a big fan when it first came out and i still am. I do believe it also comes on the Kids WB on saturday, is that correct? Raven is my favorite b/c I think she has the best powers and her personality is so "series." On the other hand Robin is the man! He has the moves and the smarts. But all the character are cool and well rounded. It doesn't matter whether people want to argue if it's anime or not, all that counts is the show rocks!

The Lyrics (if anyone cares):
When there's trouble you know who to call
Teen Titans!
From their tower, they can see it all
Teen Titans!
When there's evil on the attack
You can rest knowing they got your back
Cuz when the world needs heroes on patrol
Teen Titans GO!
With their superpowers they unite
Teen Titans!
Never met a villain that they liked
Teen Titans!
They've got the bad guys on the run
They never stop ‘till the job gets done
Cuz when the world is losin' all control
Teen Titans GO!
Teen Titans GO!
If your heart is black you better watch out
You cannot escape the team
When they catch you there won't be any doubt
You've been beaten by the teens
beaten by the teens
T-E-E-N! T-I-T-A-N-S! TEEN TITANS! LET'S GO!
T-E-E-N! T-I-T-A-N-S! TEEN TITANS! LET'S GO!
T-E-E-N! T-I-T-A-N-S! TEEN TITANS! LET'S GO!
T-E-E-N! T-I-T-A-N-S! TEEN TITANS! LET'S GO!
* (repeat)
Teen Titans GO!
Teen Titans GO!
One, two, three, four, GO!
Teen Titans!

Someone mentioned that Robin is quite a bit tougher than your average human... well, yeah. This is an animated show here. All of them break rules, even some of the most realistic.

All the other characters take more damage than they have any reason to. Why, for example, should Raven be able to take a hit? Also, every character seems to have unnatural stamina, and I think his seems in character for the show. However, you are right that it is untrue to the original Robin (and Batman, for that matter).

I think Slade is one of the strongest elements of the show. He's a villain that isn't a moron and also doesn't have any super powers. When he's around I never feel like my intelligence is being insulted.

Ah, totally agree. If it wasn't for Slade, I personally don't think I would be as hooked on the show as I am. For me he's more of a would-be-batman. He's a darker shadow of Robin's father figure whom want's to take Robin under his wing as well, but for all the wrong reasons.

If anything however, I'm dissappointed they don't have Kid Flash, Superboy, or Wondergirl as part of the Teen Titan lineup.

What would be cool in the Teen Titans lineup: Static Shock. Would it work? Not necessarily. But one episode of the latter show contained an allusion to the Titans (if not this show) and specifically Robin. Batman (making a special appearance) said that Robin was with the Teen Titans, and when Static expressed a desire to meet them Batman answered "You will."

I agree with those of you who have named Slade as an interesting factor to the series. He is pretty creepy and represents all that evil truly is: deceitful, manipulative, and ultimately selfish. I especially liked the episodes where one member of the Teen Titans had to cooperate with Slade (Robin and Terra, though under different circumstances) because the other teammates had to face a difficult dilemma: battling a friend.

Terra's case was entirely different from Robin's, but both were very interesting and well-done for an American kid's show.

Off topic: Many anime fans bash American cartoons as being far too juvenile, and with good reason. Over here, stereotypes (and some archetypes) are favored over complex characters and situations, but Teen Titans combines some realism with the typical slapstick humor/colorful characters that are common in American cartoons.... with good results. The show isn't extremely dark but at the same time, it's not vapid and moronic.

Can you tell I like Teen Titans a lot? ^___^

Just curious, what happened to Slade? I haven't seen him in the past couple episodes. Is he dead, or is still in the shows line up? Who do y'all think would win in a hand-to-hand combat, Robin or Slade? Because i know they faught a couple times like that episode were Robin became Slad's apprentice. But i dont think it ended b/c the rest of the group came. When it was all said it done, who would win?

I was wondering about that one myself. It would be somewhat awkward due to the animation-style differences between the two shows however.

I agree; there would most likely have to be serious work done on either part. If the titans appeared in Static Shock, they'd have to get upgraded animation, and visa versa would require a major change in style. It could happen, but I doubt it.

I'd have to give the match to Slade. He's a main villain, whereas Robin is just 20% of a team. Of course, any one person is far more powerful when facing a great many at once than when the situation is reversed (Law of Teen Titans #8).

In the whole Robin was Slade's apprentice bit, was anyone else just waiting for the Bat to show up with an axe to grind with Slade? I know that wasn't going to happen in the Teen Titans' show, but I still think Batman may get more than a little ticked at the thought of someone stealing his side kick.

In a fight between the two, Slade should probably win. In the comic books, Slade is one nasty customer who can hold his own against any foe and routinely beat any one titan. The cartoon Slade is even more powerful. However, the world of comics are ruled not by probability, but instead by writers. What writer is going to give the Slade the final victory?

If I remember corectly, Terra knocked him into a sea of magma. At least, that's what it looked like. They didn't spend much time on what happened to him, so one definately hopes he's still around.

Oh, and I too expected Batman to show up that time (especially with the "I already have a father" line, accompanied with the flying bats, not to mention the fact that Robin and the rest of the Titans fought in front of a "Wayne Enterprises" sign)

With the new Batman series that premiered today, I'm hoping they may take the chance to crossover between the two of them (That is, as long as The Batman pans out to be a decent show and doesn't die off soon).

Slade vs. Batman..... bring it on!

or....Alfred vs. Beast Boy, who will crack first!

And finally....

I loooooooove Teen Titans. I really like how they mix elements from Anime in with traditional american superhero cartoon stuff. It's a lot more interesting than, say, Justice League. What time do the new episodes come on? Lately I haven't been able to figure it out, and I've just been watching it on WB! in the mornings. I know I'm missing all the new episodes...^^;;;;

My favorite character is Robin, preticularly after the Apprentice. I really like how he's constantly struggling with doing the right thing, and sometimes makes wrong choices...

All the characters are really great, though. Cyborg is probably my least favorite...I'm not a big fan of the 'jock' type characters...but even he's got some good episdoes.

Wow, who are y'all favorite character? I can't deside b/t Raven and Robin. Robin is cool and slick, but Raven has an interesting personality and some cool powers.

Well, I am uncertain which thread I have already stated my opinion in, so I will restate it. I am between the same two characters, though I probably lean slightly toward Raven. Her powers and history are interesting. If Robin were more human (that is, more realistically human) he would be my favorite character, simply because he manages so well without any special powers.

I like both of those characters too, but Raven is the most interesting to me. She's strong and cool but not to the point of being standoffish and unrealistic. The way she has to control her emotions and powers is also cool...

I think she may be the strongest Titan, but it may be my biased thinking ^__~.
