What's Your IQ?

Talk about anything in here.

Postby Jaltus-bot » Sat Sep 04, 2004 9:22 am

Congratulations, Sheherazade!
Your IQ score is 140

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.

Zip, how fast did you do the test?

Really fast, less then 10 seconds to a question usually.

I did a test on Test the Nation 2004 on Fox, and I scoed a 127, but I was 4 years below the youngest age group. I applied half the bonus you get for being middle-aged to compensate, and I got 132 I think. Had I been 17, (Youngest accurate age on the test.) I would have been somewhere in the upper 130s.

[quote] Math is the evil one.[quote]
I get tired of hearing this. Math can't be evil. We use math in so many different ways. We use numbers and math more in our lives that we even realize.

Math is hard, more so for some than for others. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses.

that's why I want to take calculus eventually and organic chemistry and major in economics which btw requires calculus. I just don't want to believe that I can't do it and I'm tired of thinking that all my life. Everyone said i could write well. Math was took more effort and no one ever told me that I could go into anything that involved a lot of math. So what if I have the no concept of whether it is mistaken or not idea that I am incapable of engineering? I intend to find out if I can do certain things. I don't care if they are hard or how long it takes. Almost anything can be learned with enough time and effort.

Sometimes though I almost feel ashamed. It is hard and so many people think that, I'm like some weirdo who's the only person who wants to do that.
So many people say "it's hard," so few say, "it may be hard, but I can do it" The only people who talk like they think otherwise are typically math, physics, or sometime engineering majors. I am not any of those.

What about a less negative approach even just to the point of pointing out the superiority of english and language to math?

No one's disputing math's usefulness, that's for sure. Just it's tolerability. ;_;

I never would've though in spite of how many math and engineering courses I've taken that I would still hold some kind of a creative/visionary mindset, especially since math and creativity seem to not go too well with one another.

135 --> Visionary Philosopher type

This is my first time doing an IQ test (so to say hehe) and I took all the time I had to answer the questions coz...........I'm slow XD XD. I'm among those few who "jokingly" declare that I hate maths, physics and engineering courses, which is because I had a hard time exceling in such classes in my early years of college. However, once I started to see how they could apply to my everyday life and knowledge, those subjects aren't that bad (pretty cool and useful actually). ^__^

127 word warrior. And actually after reading the descript on it it matches me pretty well. O_o

I find I solve problems in different ways, it bugs the heck out of my co-workers. But I can't write worth a flip, I'm more of a verbal word warrior than a written word warrior ^^;

Last time I took one of these, I was somewhere in the 155-165 range. For some reason, they wouldn't give me an acurate score... It was weird.

they seem a bit high, but then 1. if it's low, why would one want to post it. 2. this place seems like it has a lot of interests that would the type attract people who would score high on IQ tests.

Both very good points, especially the second. Tests tend to get written by iNtuitive personality types, and our little informal survey pointed out there's a lot of iNtuitive personality types here.

I took a certified (real) IQ test like...back in 11th grade I believe and I had a 142...I think 160 is considered genious 140-159 is gifted, and then u just get lower...then anything below i think it's 90 is considered mentally retarted...That's as far as I know...and as for this one...I'll tell ya soon :P

-"I feel sorry for the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac...they stay up all night wondering if there is a dog."
