Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

[Pink Floyd fan listening to Queen and hugging trees which is also known as taking care of God's creation with a pair of headphones on listening to Nightwish as loud as possible while writing a novel on a computer in the middle of a field filled with Wolves.]
Spike's (from CB) was pretty classy, I thought. "Bang."
I'm sure that there's been another one at some point that impressed me more, but I can't think of any in an anime.

Lol, Lunis.

The first anime death scene I ever saw was when
Vegeta(DBZ) sacrificed himself to kill Majin Buu. It was really sad...
But I've seen better since then.
Like others have mentioned, when Wolfwood died in Trigun I almost cried. I couldn't believe it either, I kept thinking that they'd make him some how come back to life. And when Legato died, that was very emotional. Not just him dieing, the entire scene was heart wrenching.
I seen a couple others like
When Kenshin killed Tomoe in the Rurouni Kenshin OVA's and when all of Aoshi's group were killed. That was really sad, I almost cried for poor Aoshi!
christiangirl wrote:*hugs C-friend* Don't make me cry!! *tears swell in her eyes.* *big innocent kitty eyes* *sniff* *evil grin* but MY favorite WOULD be Akito's deaths from Fruits Basket. IF he died. because he's EVIL, scary, EVIL, depressing, EVIL, lonely, EVIL, did i mention EVIL?! *innocent face*

^True, true...it wouldn't be sad though, unless he just HAD to take someone with him (selfish evil villain that he is!), like Kyo! Then I would cry! :waah!:

Some really awesome/sad death scenes:
In Vision of Escaflowne when Folken dies...*tears* and he had just turned good, too!!!

In Samuari X (Rurouni Kenshin OVA) when Kenshin kills Tomoe!! That was SO sad...and then he had to live with the scar--knowing what he did to her...and THEN when Kenshin dies in Kaoru's lap at the end and the scar has finally faded away!! I bawled my eyes out!! Or is he dead?? I dunno...I thought he was, but I've argued with others about it and all...

In Trigun when Wolfwood dies...WHY?? He's such an awesome character!! WHY?? *tears*

In the middle of Witch Hunter Robin when the entire team minus Robin is 'killed'...I had NO clue what was going on!

When ALL the characters except Shinji and Asuka die at the end of End of Evangelion, that was kind of a bummer and all...it's like 'oh, yeah, you're out trying to save the world and everyone dies...'
That's all I can think of for now! ;)

My favorite death was Wolfwood's death (cries a river).

And if guys heard Ceres Celestial Legend: Aya and Aki's dad's death was kinda of sad too.

:waah!: :waah!: :waah!: :waah!:
a sad light shone
turning into wings that cuts the white darkness

shone upon by the cold sun
I had some limited freedom
the miraculous night cast by the mirror
started to remove my mask, my soul

on the other side of the collapsing wall
despair and hope looks the same
if there's a heart that's yet to be seen
lets head to the end of the prologue

in the world where the wind blows like a blade
what is it I should protect?
in a journey where I know one painful thing after another
I get closer to the true me

the fake light is disappearing
the true light is born
in these hands...

pierce through the night dyed in white
keep on creating a new era
create time with your heart
fly through the eternal white night

-English lyrics for White Night, True Light, the opening theme of D.N Angel

Well, I liked
When Alex Rowe died, his final word was a nice touch.
and I also liked the death of
Mullen Shetland from Last Exile.. even though he wasn't dead
Of course I also liked wolfwoods, but I think my favorite is (WARNING, FMA SPOILER!)
Major Hughes' death was both a surprise and a great event in the series. I really liked the way they handled it.
Houshin Engi
I can't believe that so many people were wiped out in that manga/anime. First goes the crown prince of Zhou (I was disturbed he was fed to his father), next the two princes of Yin, then the rest follows. Gyokutei dying for his student was touching...until I found out that it was in vain. It was very shocking when nine others of the Juunisen follow suit by dying in vain too. There's also the death scene of Hiko and Bunchuu commits suicide. All that wonderful attachment built up over the series deals a crushing blow in the end.....
Also pretty high on my list is one from Hunter x Hunter. This is going to be difficult for me to write... it brings back memories. If you don't want to know anything about Hunter x Hunter you may not want to read this.
During the Hunter exams, there was this guy. He got eaten. It was so sad. I cried for hours and hours, and it still keeps me up at night.
Last exile has some cool dramatic deaths.
I love how Luciola beats up all those bad guys and then ginaly gets to Delphine and she decintegrates him with her evil ring thing. I really wish he had killed her first though. Dio's death is really great too
I don't know if I'd describe any of these as Favorite death scenes, just sounds weird, so I'll say they are the Best death scenes I have seen:
Wolfwood (Trigun)
Prince Saphire (Sailor Moon R)
Future Trunks vs Cell (DBZ)
Vegeta vs Majin Buu (DBZ)
Aeris (Final Fantasy 7)
Ghaleon (Lunar 2)
Nuriko (Fushigi Yugi)
Princess Emerald (Magic KNight Rayearth)
Can't think of any others at the moment . . . but these were all very sad and memorable. . .

For me, the saddest anime death ever was that of:
Giro Yamata (not sure if I spelt that right), from Martian Successor Nadesico
All he ever wanted was to be a great hero, to die in battle (if at all) but he ends up dieing a inglorious and pointless death, never really becoming the hero he always dreamt of being…
His death was so inglorious that I bet the rest of you would have never thought about him. That is exactly why it is so very, very sad.

“Sorry Ms. Nonaka, it looks like I’m not going to be able to take you to the beach after all…â€
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

favourite?
Lucciola in episode 23. That episode is the first time we can really see who Lucciola is. It gives us some information about who Dio really is, and the episode is practically a testament to their friendship. It's a beautiful death.

Dio's response when he figures out that Lucciola isn't there is kind of sad, though, because it goes against the purpose of Lucciola's sacrifice. On the other hand, his distress shows his side of the relationship.
I won't put a spoiler thing 'cuz this has been said a few times already, but I really did tear up when Wolfwood died, the poor guy. I thought he was gonna make it too.

Other than that (no spoiler box here 'cuz she came back to life afterwards anyway), I'll say when Neptune was being gunned down by Eudial trying to reach Uranus at Marine Cathederal. The music was really sad and it made me cry too. Unfortunately (grr..) that tune isn't on the Memorial Music Box.

Wolfwood's death was rather touching. I only wish they hadn't killed him off, but it was necessary to explain why Vash fought Knives alone. Knives would likely have killed Wolfwood anyway.

I personally can't find anything really interesting about DBZ deaths. They only last a few episodes anyway. No-one seems to stay dead in that series.

Well, the first time Piccolo dies, in the original Japanese versions (Funimation messed with the score in some bad ways) isn't that bad. It isn't permanent, true, but that doesn't mean it is meaningless. Also, I know more than a few people who shed a tear or two when Marai Gohan died (and he did stay dead).

Even though it's not really a death per se, I liked the ending of the Irresponsible Captain Tylor OVA.

Though as I understand it that only happens in the manga and not the anime. It supposedly occurs some time after the series finale.

I would have to say Roy's death in Silent Mobius since it contributed to what follows.

Agreed with CDLViking from two years ago... best scene I've seen was RahXephon...
Episode 19, where Kamina unknowingly kills Asahina by destroying her Dolem -- Asahina tries to talk to him, but Kamina only recognizes his actions after it is too late, and returns to the room to find her body, and the diary with the scribbled note "goodbye".
