ACK! I wish I could help you out there, but...I've never read it or anything.
*sigh* ADD seems pretty bad. I think I have it, but I don't know. We never go to the doctor about those kinds of things.

This is prolly a pointless post--mine is, I mean--cuz I can't offer any help. Oh, well. You have my sympathy at least.

"The Illiad"

It's an old Greek story written about the war between Troy and Greece, you know, the story about the Trojan Horse and the hero Achillies, who was unbeatable but had one weekness, his heel (Achillies Heel).

the story is actually very interesting, but if you want a summary just watch the movie TROY......

God Bless,

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

I actually tried reading the Iliad, but I left it at my uncle's house on vacation. >_>; It's probably still on his couch. Oh well. Cliff notes time!

(p.s. http://www.gradesaver.com has a good amount of summaries/walkthroughs/analyzations on lots of different books. I find it's best to read a chapter first, then look at the paraphrased version to clear up any confusion. Sounds like more work, but you'll get better comprehension.)
Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

It's a classic! Read it! I know, I'm not helping, but if you can make it through the book, you may just like it. That is if you can separate the fact that you have to read it from the ability to enjoy what you are reading.

Edit: BTW, don't go see the movie "Troy" and expect to use what's in the movie to help you with the class. It won't work and you will surely fail.

Ahh The Iliad! I had to read that my freshman year, I loved it. I don't know why but I did.

I don't know, but I would just go with a positive attitude twards it and it will go faster. That's what I did when I had to read Lord of the Flies twice.

And let me tell you I HATE HATE HATE, Lord of the Flies.

I had to read it my freshman year in high school in College Prep English, then since I switched schools I had to read it again my sophmore year. Arrr. EVIL BOOK! EVIL.

Yeah, well just really look twoards it with a postive attitude and it should go by faster.

Ug, the longest book I've had to read so far was The Scottish Chiefs. It took me a while, but it was alright. -_- I didn't like the end however.
