Into the water. Into the truth. In your reflection, He lives in you." - He lives in you chorus

My absolute favorite verse is:
Proverbs 18:24--"A man that has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother."

I love it because I never really had that many friends--still don't--and whenever I felt lonely, I always read it and it made me realize that Jesus will always be my friend no matter what happens. I can really understand the verse because my brothers and I are extremely close.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

My favorite Bible verse is Job 3:2. I'm not really sure why I'm fond of it. Maybe because it's the shortest verse in the Bible, or maybe just because it's wierd.

Job 3:2

Oh, there's another verse like that: John 11:35-- "Jesus wept."
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

Mine would have to be Joshua 1:5 "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you."

well, mine is

Psalm 91:11
God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go.

That's always been really reassuring to me. ^_^

Also, do you guys know this Irish Blessing?:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

and then there's this 'A Pastoral Benediction' that this retired minister @ our church wrote:

May the wind in the trees whisper the love of God to your hearing;
May the water lapping the seashore speak His peace to your feeling;
May the sun in its splendour warm the faith in your believing;
May the distand view image His face to your seeing.

*edit*

did you know that Rebecca St.James has the Irish blessing thingy in one of her songs? I don't know the title, but it's off her album "God" ...at least, I think that's the name of it.

I have a friend (a guy) whose father jokes that his life verse is "Lord, have mercy on my son."

My favorite verse is probably...I forgot the verse, but it's in one of Paul's letters to timothy when he says do not let them look down on you because you are young.

I used to really like Revelation 21:1-7 because it was about how God would make everything bad go away and everthing would be wonderful.

Verse 4:And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Having just been discharged from the Navy, and not sure of what college I'll go to, how to pay for it, etc., one verse that puts it all in perspective is Matthew 6:34:
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow wil worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
