I was surfing the web today and I came across a preview for One Piece on FoxBox (http://www.foxkids.com/promotions/youpickit/). I watched it, curious to see how bad Luffy's voice could be done. It was worse than I even could have imagined. Also, Zoro sounds so-so and that clown (Buggy?) he sounds like Barney on a bad day.

Why 4Kids? Why??? :waah!:

One Piece: oh man.... not much to comment on it except Luffy's voice is VERY annoying (I actualy like his orginal voice, btu they tried too hard to match it :/)

"Mew Mew Power" (yet ANOTHER name change): OHHHHHH MAAAAAAAN!!!!
I expected they would do an opening like that but was it REALLY neccesary to change their names?! They WERE english in the first place!!!! The voices are odd too... yeah, it'll be another anime like Sailor Moon where people get a bad impression from it because of the dub :/

I didn't mind the one piece thing too much ... the voice was okay and they didn't change zoro's name... so all in all it looks okay

Off topic but more important in my mind than One Piece: brantelg, you know where your avatar is from, correct? Are you a fan of the short-lived series?

I just watched the tralier and I have no problem with the voices and well having never seen the fansub I'll be able to thoroughly enjoy the dub.

There is a link if you have Windows Media player... but you don't want to see it anyway.

One Piece: Hmmm. Zoro's voice is alright. Concerning Luffy's voice; I imagine the actor will get better at it as time goes on. His voice was rather annoying in the original Japanese anyway...

At this point, I'm more worried about graphical/dialogue/story edits and changes than the voice actors...
I did think the preview clip was interesting. They showed scenes from the Captain Morgan, Buggy the Clown, and Captain Kuro story arcs.

Mew Mew Power: Well, the new title sounds less cheesy than Hollywood Mew Mew. The new Mew Mew theme song sounds kind've catchy actually. I was expecting some name changes, but they certainly didn't have to change the names of all the main characters (or, at least, the girls). At least, in Shaman King, most of the name changes (aside from that Hao to Zeke thing) sound similar to the original names.

F-Zero: Not really interested. I haven't heard many positive things about this anime. It's another case of 4kids trying to cash in on a popular video game franchise...

I don't like Luffy's voice at all. O_o.

Then again....it's something that I should've suspected from 4Kids...but oh well.

One Piece is winning in the polls to be shown on September 4th. I want to see a full dub episode, out of curiosity. Then again, I'm weird like that.

Voice didn't bother me that much. I'm just happy that it's winning in the polls. Personally, I would have rather seen this anime come out before Shaman King, but thats just me. Besides, I'm not going to get too wriled up over the voice acting, he's a rubber band pirate for crying out loud.....who can't swim!

It's a light hearted anime, so light hearted voice acting just seems fitting.

the mew mew power theme song was catchy. i can somewhat let go of the name changes(....maybe.). but, like most ppl, i am really concerned about overediting and excesive storyline edits.

tokyo mew mew, in its unedited form, might be rated for 13+(i think). however, on the foxBox u can expect that it will be rated 7+. i dont think i need to say what will happen to that series. ~_____~ @_____@

as for onepiece, i am really really really more concerned with how much the storyline will change..... jokes, dialog, puns, etc. i hope it remains interesting and funny. the voice acting is.......ok, i guess.

My friend who is a big One Piece fan is gonna freak (in a bad way) when he sees this. Maybe I shouldn't show him....

By this point I have actually heard it in proper. I don't really mind Luffy's voice (though it sounds a bit young) because it is about as annoying as his character. For the moment I won't pass judgement on Zoro, because I'd have to see more to know if his voice is cool or just average.

Just as long as it keeps winning over Tokyo Mew Mew. I don't know about the anime, but I was unimpressed with the manga.

I did find "Loofy" funny.

"Loofy" is the proper pronunciation of his name. It's how they pronounced Luffy in the original so 4kids did get that right actually.

On a Windows XP, I got a black square, downloaded Windows Media Player and then it worked. You might have a different problem.

I find it funny that "Loofy" is right. Terrible...

I HATE 4KIDS THEY RUIN ALL ANIME. UNCUT ANIME FOREVER. LUFFIES VOICE WAS, *sobs* MUTILATED. *drops to the floor and screams* do yourself a favor and buy the subbed dvds. The japanese voices are sooo much better.
