Do you talk to animals?

I didn't put this in the Goof Off because I don't think it's wacky to talk to animals. But if you mods/admins feel it would be better to have it in that section then do as you wish.

Anyway, my answer to the question is yes, I talk to any and every thing if I feel the need to exchange words.

Yeah I talk to animals ... especially when I am home alone with the dogs ... or to horses, it keeps them calm and calm is good! but then I talk to myself so I guess talking to animals is at least talking to someone else right?

I talk to my pets all the time. When I talk to my dog, she gets this weird look on her face like "What the heck are you saying!?" It's pretty cute ^_^.

Yeah, I don't know whether they really understand you or not but I think animals like it when you talk to them. They know that you're giving them attention There's a parrot in this office that I worked in one summer and it would dance when you talk to it. But boy does it get mad if you pay it no attention!

Actually, I do talk to animals. I do talk with my pets, but I also sometimes find myself saying hi to the squirrels, birds or other animals I see. No, I don't understand what they say to me, and yes, I do talk to myself as well...Maybe these are all signs that I'm crazy...

I talk to my cat, and the funny thing is that she talks (meows) back. Not that that's unusual or anything, I just think it's funny. My friend has this cat that is so whiney. It whines and mumbles and grumbles, especially when you're near the food, because it knows where the treats are. I also talk to my car, because sometimes it acts like it's gonna blow up. I try to give it words of encouragement, but it usually dies and then I reside with saying, "stupid car." Yeah, it's psycological projection, I know. I'm calling the car stupid because I'm too stupid to fix it.

I was in our church parking lot one day and I saw a toad in the middle of the lot. I sat there like 2 minutes talking to it, telling it "Little toad what are you doing out here? You're going to get smashed! You need to go on that way, go on now. Lord I hope no one runs over him..."

I remember a few years ago my mom and I came home from the store and one of my grandma's cats came running to us. She was meowing a lot that was very unusual. So we sat there saying " What? What's wrong Sunshine?" To make a long story short we heard her kittens underneath the house and she led us to the backdoor where she left them. Soon as we opened the door she ran in and brought out her 3 precious babies. I felt like a hero that day Question is, how did she get under there?

Anyway, I said that because maybe animals really do understand what we say to them. *shrugs*

Yes, I talk to aminals. I also talk to my Bible, CD player, telephone and countless objects of no sentimental value that either do a good job or don't work when I use them.

Eventually I end up talking to everything. But now when there are people in the house. They come first.

I talk to animals. Well, 'talk'. I speak to them. Horses. Horses have an uncanny way of knowing what you're feeling. You're scared, it knows. You mean business, it knows. You're a threat, it knows. You can be disobeyed, it knows. I wouldn't go so far as to say that horses are actual intelegent beings like people. *laughes* Oh no, but they can convey a lot about their moods through action and body language. *tapes up mouth before she goes into a big long dissertaition about the behavior of horses*

I usually only talk to my pets, so that's what I put. Occasionally, though, I do talk to wild animals, especially bugs or something like them.

I also talk to furniture/inanimate objects. I talk to my computer all the time! Mostly with criticism. It is one mean backstabber, this one. My other one is a bit nicer. I talk to my videogames, my CD player, my TV, my life-size cardboard stand-up of Spike from Buffy: the Vampire Slayer (no seriously, my dad bought me it *lol*), my food sometimes, and my basketball. Some of the talking goes on inside my head. I don't want my family to think I'm insane *lol*. I talk more out loud when I'm alone.

Sometimes I pick up my kitty, just to annoy her, and wiggle her around and shake her and give her eskimo kissies and baby talk and tell her how much I wuuuuuuuuv her.....I don't need to speak cat to comprehend that universal look of utter disgust.

One time I was talking to a bird and I said "i love you birdy," it then flew away rather quickly... it was cute too. I said yes, when I yell at them but I generally talk to anything and I don't exclusively yell at animals, they just irritate me sometimes... like that cockroach...
