even more of my poetry

Postby Rachel » Thu Jul 22, 2004 3:05 pm

haha okay, i know you're all wondering why hasn't rachel posted more of that excellent poetry of hers? well i've been wondering that myself too. so rather than resurrect seasons i've decided to make this here thread for you all to enjoy. so without further ado, i give you the poetry of rachel!!! i think this is one of my better ones anyways. here we go.

numb yourself

turn the radio on and
let the music was over you
covering the scars that
line your bloody wrists
try to numb yourself
as Stairway plays
and your mother screams
no one hears your cries
and they ignore your tears
the cresscendo builds
and your heart atrophys
try to numb yourself
the music fades away and
you slowly falls to the floor
you couldn't numb yourself
Bob Dylan wails

so there ya have it. i hope y'all enjoyed it.

Wow! I have to repeat what your brother said.

This is very good. I can hear this sung with a really hard rock beat in the background, or maybe something Bob Dylanny. ~_^

Anyways, I really did like this one very much. You're such a talent. ^___^

More, I say more, please.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

asylum

Postby Rachel » Tue Aug 03, 2004 2:57 pm

ok so here is one that i wrote not too long ago. i think it's pretty sad, but then again i think most of my stuff is pretty sad. anyways here goes and i hope that y'all enjoy it.

asylum

pain echoes off of the bare walls
drowning out your silent plea
paint the floor with your fears
hide away from the shadows
that crawl across your mind
a dark night filters through
the iron barred windows
the voice inside your head
has become your only friend
red drips red from your wrists
onto the shackles chained around your feet
holding you in the corner of your cell
you're tto scared to beak free
safely inside your comfort zone
locked inside the prison you built
to escape what you can't face
the last feather falls from your wings
leaving you all alone
