Talk about anything in here.

Which temperament are you?

Au contraire -- you just think you're being pigeonholed. *poke poke poke* :P

True, since you would expect really artistically inclined people to be attracted to it, although most of the SPs I know are ISTPs and ESTPs, and they tend not to congregate in organized groups like this (not their style of interaction). If I know any ISFPs or ESFPs, though, they have not made themselves obvious to me :)

I'm an Idealist!

Postby snowyangel » Mon Jul 14, 2003 4:57 pm

Idealists, as a temperament, are passionately concerned with personal growth and development. Idealists strive to discover who they are and how they can become their best possible self -- always this quest for self-knowledge and self-improvement drives their imagination. And they want to help others make the journey. Idealists are naturally drawn to working with people, and whether in education or counseling, in social services or personnel work, in journalism or the ministry, they are gifted at helping others find their way in life, often inspiring them to grow as individuals and to fulfill their potentials.

Idealists are rare, making up no more than 8 to 10 percent of the population. But their ability to inspire people with their enthusiasm and their idealism has given them influence far beyond their numbers.

The Four types of Idealists are:

Healers (INFP) | Counselors (INFJ) | Champions (ENFP) | Teachers (ENFJ)

I come out with different results most of the time. How do I know what I am? I could be an introvert! (says the person who once met 350+ people in a 4.5 month period.)

This seems similar to the DiSC test... The DiSC test is Direct (leadership, forcefull, work motivated), influencial (crowd pleaser, relationship centered, lots of shallow friendships) Steady (Even tempered, quiet, makes things work... likes being alone) Contemplative (intelecual, has a few strong friendships, Logical (provided the C is alone in the + scale, otherwise the logic can be a bit skewed, hehehe))

I am a high C, Mid S, Mid i, Low D... Supposedly, the C and the i are opposites, and S and D are opposites. My Dad is a very strong S and very weak D, and my Mom is, like, pure D... D's are scary...

C's tend to be intelectual, but we are just the inverse of I's... I's are experts at small talk, C's can't do small talk very well (unless they are IC's... I'll talk about taht later...)

It seems most d's don't trust these tests... It's funny, because all the people who thought the test was a scam ended up being a D, hahaha... Out of the people taking the test (all Chrsitians in my group), the S's all said "Let's Pray about this", all of the C's were fascinated by it, all of the I's just followed along, and all the D's thought it was a big fraud. These things are remarkably accurate once you figure out how to do it right.

I know people who refuse to call it a "personality" profile because Personality is the word we tend to use to describe our whole being. Instead, it's often called a "Temperment" profile or something... This is just a matter of confused semantics, in my opinion. Personality as in the DiSC scale is just the way you respond to things. It's not all there is to you. Everyone is unique, but there is a certain level of measurable similarity...

Of course, no one is pure anything... Everyone has some level of each of those things, but it is good to know what is dominant so you can manage your relationships wisely...

The test said that DC (high D, high C) otherwise known as the "creative" type, is the strangest combonation, one that will constantly be conflicted, more than any other combonation

Huh. I got NT; so I guess that means I'm a Rationalist. It says they only make up five to ten percent of the population. The paragraph that was supposed to describe me was actually pretty accurate.
"Consider the lilies of the field. They neither sew nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed as one of these. If God so clothes the grass, which is in the field one day and cast into the oven the next, how much more will he clothe you, o ye of little faith?

It said I was an Idealist. I knew I'd be that. ^___^ It also said I was an INFP or J. I think that means I could be a counselor or teacher or something. *hehe*

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Nf??? I am now an Idealist???? ? ? ? NANI?!?!?!?!

I took it four years ago and I was a ENTJ. . . Yeah that is quite the change. Went from rational to idealist. Scary, eh?

I'll take it again before school starts, I prefer being a rational. I wonder what changed. . . .

After I was born-again: INFJ

Reminds me of the online test for spiritual gifts, so I question the accuracy.

I remember doing a science project on this once, when I sorted the whole class into personality types...the most common type was ENTP...but then again I tested only about 70 students.

What was interesting was that people who are attracted to each other as friends/lovers are either the same except socially (INFJ and ENFJ, for example) or are total opposites (INFJ and ESPT).

That's my two cents. And I'm an INFJ...turned out to be the only one in my class :(

My temperment is Artisan (SP)

The test bothered me though, because it would ask the same things literally and then sometimes it would ask the same things, but worded differently X.x

I think it's that way to be confirmatory, though.

According to the test, I am a Rational (NT).

Last year I took the same test (Myers-Briggs) for my psychology class, and I came out as INFJ.

I think that the NT description is more accurate, although I also think that part of the variance reflects changes in personality and circumstances over time.

The test I took last year can be found at: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm

Edit (update) - I took the second test again, and this time came out with INTJ. I bet that if I took it again, I would get something different  .

Ooh, I'm an INFP. Good times. I have a whole big sheet (i.e. "full report") that I got when I took this as a freshman in college. Maybe I'll post it...later...

Just a little thing to add. I heard more NF's were online on some website once (because maybe they prefer chatting and forums and such, I don't know). Whatever the reason, something has to explain all the skewed results.

Or perhaps NF's just tend to like anime...hmm...
