I wish the same as everybody else when it comes to christianity,but if i had a lighthearted one it would be that all my favorite anime characters come to life and be my neighbors instead of my other ones. :cool:

Then again, some of my favorite characters are each others' enemies so it might not be so peaceful in the neighborhood :eyeroll:

This reminds me of a dream I had where Dorothy (Big O) and I was working together on a science project :lol:

Some interesting wishes in my absence.

I don't really know what I would wish for. I dunno, I don't really know exactly what the best thing would be to wish for. In all seriousness I couldn't logically wish for anything. How do I know what I need or what other people need? God's taking care of that just fine. God is just, God provides what we all need (not necessarily want). As for wishing for everyone to be a Christian, I don't know if I would, because the choice needs to be made by the individual. Heck, it would be nice if everyone would choose on their own freewill to follow God, but that's a totally different subject.

But on a less serious note, right now I would say I'd wish for an unlimited supply of art stuff and a lot of talent so that I could make a manga. And I'd wish that people would be pointed to Jesus through the manga. And that I'd have an awesome family without financial burdens. Hehe... that's more than one... oh well, that's what everyone else did!

But we have already been wishing for other impossibilities. The point of the topic (vaguely, at least) is to see what people most want. Logic and reasons were thrown out some time ago.

However, my true purpose in posting is to request that no one respond to the quoted portion in future posts. We do not need that kind of argument in this thread.

The most interesting thing that I find in wishing threads is what it reveals about those who make the wishes. If you wish for everyone in the world to be Christian, then you are obviously a very religious person. If you wish for world peace, then you probably consider yourself to be a good servant, sacrificing your own desires for the good of others. If you wish for the world to be more like anime, then you probably have a deep fascination with fantasy (although I could just as easily have said that you have an unhealty obsession with fantasy).

Then there are those who wish for things that are not actually unattainable in this life. What this shows is that they are being held back by something in their lives. Instead of thinking that such things are out of reach, you should strive to make them a reality (provided that they are good things).

I wish for omnipotence; that is, to be all-powerful, able to do anything merely by willing it. This too reveals something about my personality. I am a very logic-oriented person, so the first thing that occurs to me is the wish that would be the most efficient use of a single wish; i.e., the only wish that makes any further wishing unnecessary.

I just wished to get rid of ignorance. If everyone understood eachother perfectly there would be no fighting. Everything else good would come in time.

An interesting permutation of the topic; it is one that I would be happy to participate in.

My original post, for the sake of reference:

cbwing0's wish is my secondary one, as it conveniently solves any problems and is far more efficient than multiple wishes.

You will notice that I have more than one answer, which reveals that my personality is multi-fauceted. Just as different answers reveal different things about people, my multiple answers reveal multiple things. However, I did intentionally limit my answers to this question to only two, as the thread did state a single wish.

The first response shows my devotion to God, and my confidence in His decision-making ability. Furthermore, it is an efficient way of avoiding making a decision myself.

The second is the same as cbwing0's, but my own motivations are very different. I would never wish for something that is within my legitimate grasp... I can attain it for myself. Hence, with a theoretical wish the only alternative I see is to vote for something that is otherwise impossible: such as omnipotence.

Though were I to attain such a thing, I actually would not use it too excessively. Life is more enjoyable when it can be lived ordinarily. I would find it an interesting challenge of will to avoid using complete power in a situation where it would be convenient. Not that it would go unused, of course...

Perhaps that fact that you would wish for you family to be at peace does not say that you are selfish; rather, it may say that you care for your family very much, which is why you want them to be at peace. I would not consider that selfish.

Alternatively (although the possibilities are not mutually exclusive), the fact that you would wish for your family to be at peace may indicate that your family is engulfed in some sort of dispute or strife that is causing you grief. If this is the case, it is only natural for you to wish that it would end by the power of a wish. Perhaps this is something that is not even really beyond your control, but you do not want to confront it.

Of course, I know nothing about you or or family; but that is my interpretation of the wish.
