Allready in the book section, twice in fact. http://www.christiananime.com/showthread.php?t=5615&

Also in "In the Spotlight" but, of course, that's for the moveis.

Besides that, just saying "what do you think" is setting the battleground for a lot of flamthrowing. No offense to you, not saying it was intentional.

Have you read the books? Or seen the movies yourself?
It's really a personal choice. I don't have any problems with HP, just as long as my friends don't go around trying to cast spells or pushing bricks in London to get into Diagon's Alley. It's fantasy for me and nothing more. I read the books because one of my friends told me I couldn't knock 'em, 'till I'd read 'em. I admit the writing style is very captivating because it's a thriller kind alike to many mystery stories in which there's a cliffhanger at the end of every chapter.
I'm not that interested in them. I only went and saw TSS in theaters, I didn't go see CoS or PoA. So I don't say HP is evil and I have no worries about reading the books or seeing the movies, but I wouldn't want my younger cousins reading the books until they're old enough to see between reality and fantasy.

This thread is so being moved over to books or movies. (and I bet it'll get shut down in the end. People get pretty testy about Mr. Potter.) I'm not really going to promote my HP stance right now, because I don't have time. But if you really care, you could go to some of the other Potter threads. I post there pretty frequently.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I've read all the books, and seen all the movies, and well, I don't find it objectional. It has the basic good against evil plot, and in general, it's a pretty decent read. The genre of Fantasy is one of my main favorites, along with Non-Fiction, and well, I'd have to say that Harry Potter is one of the most well-written Fantasy books there is. I like it. : )

I like HP (the books), but i don't like the movies. It's fantasy with a touch of realit. It's fantasy on that withcraft stuff but it is pretty real as to the characteres, those are very well designed and their relations with each other too.
That's all i have to say for now.

I like Harry Potter, have read all the books and have seen all the movies. It's fiction.

As Bob said, there are already 3 threads about this series in both the books and movies section; I'd rather you take discussion there rather than reopen this whole argument yet again. Anyone that absolutely must express there opinion can always PM KannaQueen.
