Anime Fans And CAA Members Making A Difference For Kids With Cancer

Postby Rev. Doc » Mon Jul 19, 2004 7:00 am

There is a new project in North America which is being promoted by a number of Anime distribution companies and Anime News Network. The purpose is the reach out to kids with cancer. As the article in the link provided below states, 1 in every 330 young people in the United States develops cancer before the age of 19. This program challenges anime fans to become involved in the lives of these individuals and encourage them. This would be a great project for an anime club if you belong to one and for many of the Christians here at CAA you can help the Spiritual needs of those you come into contact with. Your reward? Each participant will receive a free DVD or Graphic Novel. Your greater reward? Having made a difference in the someone's life in the name of Jesus Christ. Look at the link under the heading How can I help to find out if there is a hospital or camp in your area that you can become involved in. I'll be involved and I encoureage other CAA members to be also.

This is great stuff, anything having to do with Cancer I'm totally involved with.

You know, this would be a very good project to develop here at the Forum. Reaching out to children with Cancer through anime. Just something I'd point out......

....I mean, who better to influence children then christians with anime?

Kuddos on posting the this thread Rev, you rock a thousandfold just because of this.

God Bless,
Archan

Oo, I love it! I love the idea, I love their choice for a name, I love the references to Full Moon....definately an excellent idea. Luckily I live very near the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center and Hospital, as well as the Texas Children's Center, so I'm sure I can find somewhere to volunteer. It'll probably have to wait until I get used to the rythem of college life, but I'll definately try to sign up.
