Please Read Before Submitting Review!!!

Postby Gypsy » Tue Jun 29, 2004 3:21 pm

At the moment, our pending review area is broken, and we've disabled the submit function. However We can just go about this the old fashioned way. If you want to submit a review, just PM it to me (go ahead and break it up into multiple PMs if it's too big to fit into one, just please put "part 1," " part 2," etc. in the subject area). I apologize for the reviews that were submitted and lost recently. Very sorry! Thanks ahead of time for your understanding, guys!

All fixed, but now for something completely different:

Please don't sweat it if your review has been pending for a while. I've been busy, but I will get to the reviews eventually. I will PM you regardless of whether or not your review has been submitted to the main review database. I have been noticing a certain trend, and it seems that people are once again have been neglecting to read the disclaimer at the top of the submission form. So, just for fun , I'll post it here.

Please fill out the form below and press "Submit for Approval." Please remember that all forum rules apply here, and that mods/admins are volunteers. We have lives, and may not get to this immediately. Also note that submitting this form will not automatically update the main reviews database; all submissions are subject to mod approval. Once your submission has been reviewed, you will be PM'd with our decision. Also, do not post any copyrighted materials here. By submitting a review to this system, you are stating that this is your own original work.

Here's some other tips:

1. Spell/grammar checking your own review would move this process along 70% faster, I promise you. CAA takes a lot of pride in these reviews, and we want them to be very high quality, and this only works if the reviewers have the same goal. If I open your submitted review and every other word is spelled wrong, I'm apt to just minimize it and go to the next one. That's the honest truth. The only exception to this would be if your native language is not English. If English is not your first language, then don't worry about spelling errors and such.

2. Please make an effort when writing the review to be as detailed as possible. I will not be accepting reviews that have one sentence in each field.

3. Although there are a few exceptions, (please PM me with your questions) do not review series that A) You have watched on a TV station that edits them or B) you have not seen the entire series - and I mean every single episode. To say it plainer, unless I give you permission, I will not be accepting reviews based on any anime that you watched on Cartoon Network, (even Adult Swim shows are edited), Fox Kids, or any other such channel. Anime Network and any action channel doesn't edit the anime they air - so those are fine. I don't think that Tech TV edits, but I'm not 100% certain. If you do not understand why this is a rule, then please PM me and I'll gladly explain further.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. This should go without saying, but don't PM Ashley with your review questions - she's also very busy, and she's only going to forward them to me anyway, so save her the trouble and send them to me directly, please.

Ok, I've been dragging my feet on the reviews. Shooraijin helped me out, but I'm not all caught up yet. If you submitted a review, don't worry, it's still there. However, I do have to sort through multiple reviews for the same series. Here's a list of reviews we don't currently need. (Subject to change.)

1. NGE - thanks, but no thanks. Since it's such a touchy series, a staffer will write up this review. Several of you have nicely offered and submitted reviews for it, but they're not needed at the present time.

2. Last Exile

3. Naruto - please, no more! There's enough reviews of this series to sort through as it is!

4. Spirited Away - we have a few already.

5. Full Moon wo Sagashite - The review has been written for a while, I just haven't got it up yet.

There are other titles, but these are the popular ones that everyone seems to want to write about. We appreciate it, but we only need one review per anime.

Thanks!

And please, please, please check to see if there's already an existing review in the database before you write one up and submit it. I just deleted several duplilcate submissions of long-standing reviews, and it really was a shame.
