Virus Infestation

Postby skynes » Wed Jul 14, 2004 9:57 am

It appeears my PC is virus infested at the moment... 293 of them. Some Worm named PE_JEEF.A that locks up everything and won't allow ANY .exe's to open.

Until I get it sorted I'm not gonna be on much. I really really hope its sorted soon.

See you later.

You do have a virus scanner right...?

This virus had infected every executable file on my hard drive. It closed programs before they could be opened. So virus scanners couldn't help...

I went onto Sophos site and got a program designed and made specifically for killing the Jeefo virus.

280 of em are gone. The last 13 Im gonna delete manually.
Nice to back so soon :P

my gosh, i'm so sorry. must have been tiresome. gah, well, i've got Norton Antivirus and Personal Firewall protecting my compy... but if my beloved compy ever got a horrid worm like that...I would just reinstall windows xp. OR, do what you did and delete all of it manually, and then burn the files i want onto cds. then reinstall xp. so that my computer would be pure...but that's me... : ) glad to hear all is well, though.

Im glad reinstalling wasn't needed. It pays to check the net for answers before you start wiping things. I went to google and typed in the name of the virus PE_JEEFO.A and on the first page of results found a program to fix it!
