My dad and i just had a long discussion on not putting anything on public websites such as these that would make you trackable by internet predators.
And i would strongly encourage going over personal profiles making sure that you have nothing that could give away where you live or any private info.
i went over my profile and realized i had gaps. hehehe fixed that! :thumb:
GO OVER YOUR PROFILES
don't have any links to personal or private info
Thanx,

If something is precious to you...no matter how painful or how hard it seems, no matter what it may cost you, you have to hang in there and protect it with all the strength you got even at the risk of your own life. If you do that, then even if you die in the attempt, at least the world will be left with the proof that a man worth living had died!

Well said! We should partner up and create a web site about this. I just need your name, address, telephone number, social security number, bank account number, and all regularly used credit card numbers.

*thinks*

I don't think I ever really give any information out, cause my mom is really paranoid on that subject. I mean, she just watches a lot of talk shows where they have a daughter or something and she got abducted...It's sort of annoying. Well anyway. I think I'm safe.

keep in mind that anybody can view your profile, even people who aren't regestered on this site. there have been some creepy people here before, but the admins and mods have taken care of those situations.

This seems like a good time to point out that we do not support anyone giving anyone information over this site. Even if it is someone you know, trust and have seen in person. It isn't completely safe.

I think I am very careful about what information I give out. But stuff like this paranoids me so I decided to check over my profile anyway. It's just too many people out there who are too smart for anyone's good...

Good warning; it's probably best to give out as little info as possible. It's surprisingly easy to track someone down after getting to know them over the net if they're not careful.

Its sad that there really isn't anywhere safe on the web. Its reasons like this that we have to keep from meeting our close online friends face to face...

I for one don't really mind giving away my details as long as there is no graphical detail (like a photo) and nothing too detailed, like an address. My age and such is fine. Probably because there's people already out there who knows half of who I am...

But for the rest of public, it's safer to keep your profiles undetailed, and preferably humorous so whoever reads can laugh their head off.
