And as a result, so shall that Bikini thread become obsolete because of the more fashionable one-piece. I always found girls in suits highly attractive anyway.

Dang, I hope that happens. I'm so tired of seeing girls at my school with the lowest cut shirt they can get away with, and the shortest skirt possible.

No offence but I dont really think this is going to happen. The latest fashion couldn't just change so fast. I mean I really dont think people are gonna change from inmodest to modest this fast. And if it did happen, they would have said so on the news. But if it did happen im glad, cause im really tired of seeing so much skin every where i look.

Yes, those are cute and acceptable (^_^) Personally I get sick of all these commercials that talk about how to get "a sexy tummy" and what not. And commercials with people that say "I've lost 110 lbs and now I'm sexier than ever." WHO CARES MAN!? Not me. I understand that you want to look and feel great and it's nothing wrong with that but some of these people act like the only way they can be worth anything is if they look good for someone else.

Actually, I have noticed some stores starting selling more modest clothes. Younger girls apparently aren't into the skin . . .. who knows, I would be very happy! ^^
I will say for now, if it does happens, ABOUT TIME! ^_^
(maybe now I can buy clothes that fit me, lol)

There is also a song out by Barlow Girl which is all about being modest . . . it is called "Clothes" and here are the lyrics:
Clothes aren’t what they used to be
They don’t seem to fit you and me anymore
Modesty is out the door
Flaunting what we’ve got and more is in
Yeah it’s in

Were singing
Don’t ask why just wear what we say
You’ll look like a model if you’ll only obey
To get the attention, just do what we say

Pay so much for clothes so small
Was this shirt made for me or my doll?
Is this all I get?
I looked so hot but caught a cold
I was doing just what I was told
To fit in

They’re saying let’s ask why
Don’t wear what they say
Don’t want to be a model
They can’t eat anyway
That kind of attention will fade with the day
So I’ll stand up and say

Clothes that fit are fine
Won’t show what’s mine
Don’t change my mind
I’ll be fine

hehe, I love that song. ^^

YAY!!! Actually, I've recently seen some more modest clothes being sold in teenage stores too! I just went skirt shopping for church (our church ladies don't like it when we wear jeans to church) and bought two beautiful skirts that go down to my knee!! YAY!! ^^;

It actually is true. Girls at my school at the half way point last year started dressing somewhat decently, which is unbelievable.
Longer shirts and skirts, comfortable jeans, and layering are all in. Now if only most of those shirts weren't see-through...

YEAH!!! And if you don't believe it ladies, the cover of this or last month's edition of Vogue read "Naught vs. Nice, why showing skin is no longer in." I was ecstatic. To think, for once I'm ahead of the fashion curve and not behind it. ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Hey Manga! We should make a goofoff thread club thing for CAA, like the wolf pack and stuff, but for dressing modest! Anyone else tell me what you think . . . just an idea . . . ^^'

shoulder pads??? Never heard or, hopefully, seen them...

I like the modesty thread thing. A club for girls who like dressing modestly is cool. ^_^
We need to ask a mod or Ashley for permission before doing it though, I think. We could also include tips for girls to dress modestly for each other. Like I never knew, until I stood in front of the mirror and looked at myself sideways, that some of my buttons gaped in my church shirts...

Yay! I never saw this coming...but I'm glad it finally happened! It's about time!! Lots of girls at my school don't exactly follow the dress code, even some of my friends. It's really annoying to see them all in super low-cut tops and jean skirts that don't allow them to bend over. I mean low-rise jeans are one thing, but shorts that show off your upper UPPER thighs?? You'd better be running in a track meet if you're wearing those to a school event. (o.o Why do they make us wear such short shorts for running anyway???) Wow, I won't have to change my clothing style too much for this fashion! ^-^

I wont have to change mine at all. *sigh* Well... at least now I won't get picked on and made fun of for the way I dress. Not as much anyway. v_V;

I hate showing any skin other than hands and face. (In summer, long shorts and shortsleeve shirts are liveable.) I've been told so many times that I'm way too selfconcious. Guess it doesn't really matter. I don't like bathing suits at all. :P

I suppose I'm just.. a weirdo. Nerd? >_. What word? It doesn't matter. If I'm comfortable with myself, others can deal with it. That sounded mean didn't it? I'm sorry! >_<;;

Wait...that made it sound like I wear bad stuff. The worst I wear are tank tops sometimes in the summer. I grew out of all my jean shorts; the only shorts I wear are athletic ones. I wear mostly capris because it's hard to find jeans long enough for my legs. O.o As for bathing suits, I'll stick to my tankini with boy shorts, thanks. No tiny bikinis for me. Blech. *lol*

How can you stand to wear long-sleeve shirts in the summer?!?! Do you live somewhere with a fairly mild climate? And I wouldn't make fun of you for your style of clothing! That's just not nice. *throws muffins at the so-called "fashion police"...STALE muffins.*

Yep, Ms. Manga (me) BOYCOTTED shorts this year. I wore capri's and pants all summer, and I'm still here to tell the tale. It's about time young ladies stood up and demanded their clothes back.

Furthermore, buying the shorts that manufacturers are turning out is simply bad stewardship! I mean, I'm not paying thirty dollars for those Denim underwear they claim are shorts. Where may be some decent shorts (I have friends who have defied the odds and found them), I just don't have time to wade through the Jr. department to find them.

Modesty rocks. (Plus, it's WAY more comfortable.)

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make it sound as if you wore bad things Haru. I didn't mean it like that at all. I was just sayin that I was really self concious and can't wear that stuff. It gets to me. >_. I'm paranoid. Really. I can't even wear pajamas with tanktops. *sigh*

I did say that in summer shorts and shortsleeve shirts are liveable. As in... I can wear them without feeling conspciuous. It's just me.. honest. I'm weird. I have to wear shorts and shortsleeve shirts in the summer, cause we don't have any air conditioning in our van or truck. v_V;

I honestly didn't mean to offend anyone. I'm terribly sorry. Honest. ;-; v_v I must go now. And thank you for throwing the stale muffins at them. xD They pushed me over the line of my anger once, and they really lightened up on it after that. v_V; I feel so bad about that. *sigh* ;-; Oh well... I didn't go all out on them at least. : P

:mutter: seriously guys
I mean living in california i go to beach a lot and also hang around in
beach side towns w/the friends and i see miniskirts and bikini tops all the time and my dad was commenting last night at starbucks that,"I'm tired of seeing girls having to hold their pants so that when they lean over their buns don't pop out!" I mean it's just sad I mean can't they see :bang: that just makes them walking lust causers! I mean in entire honesty I like skirts more than girls wearing pants but i mean not when the skirts are less then a foot long! i mean thats just wrong....
i really hope that what u say comes true volt. that would definetly b a God-Send. :jump:

That would be awesome. I bought a bunch of these short shorts for the summer cause there was nothing else, but I wear my capris as much as possible cause the shorts are so short its uncomfortable, especially when I sit down. >_< I like winter clothes so much more than summer clothes. Jeans, long sleeves, and hoodies all the way! See, modest and cool looking.

Edit: The only thing is though, it wouldn't effect me much after summer, cause my school has uniforms and I just wear those all week (except weekends of course)

I have to agree that it's much easier in the winter to wear decent stuff. My winter shirts are pretty tight, but they're not see-through and they look nice. Jeans are great, just have to go to Gap for ones that aren't so tight they leave imprints on my skin...never got into the hoodie craze.

I know girls that wear short shorts and tee-shirts all year long, even when it's snowing! They just bring coats to school and leave them in their lockers...it's so stupid.
