~rhapsody of a broken heart~

hey, kids.
i wrote this poem a few days ago, and i thought i might share it with you all, as a voice of encouragement for those of us who struggle with trusting God in all things, waiting on His hand to move us, and for the loneliness that threatens to encompass our lives so much we forget Who's life we're living.
hope ya hate it!

Encouraged, standing, smiling thinly,
Deeper dreading life without
A purpose, call, and vision clearly,
Faith, bereft of doubt
And as I stumbled on the Rock
And felt my balance fail
It comes and on my brow is struck
The caverns of travail
For how it crinkles, as I ponder
What His way has wrought
And how perplexed the other, yonder
Held, but not yet caught
The snare ensues, and struggle I,
As valiant as dust can,
But then, relenting, deeply sigh
And again to live the Man
For knowledge puffs up, in earthly shell
Whatever virtuous mind
But blacker than an ancient well
Are these deeds of mine
Searching o'er the horizon there
For some small glint or glow
Awaiting dawn, as taking care
Not to sink too low
But as the morning seemed to rise
Awakened by my cry
I felt a voice, behind these eyes
And suddenly ask "why"?
"Why give up, or why give in,
As eager as you are
For love to sound amongst the din
Refreshing long held scar?"
And there I wept, and bitter fell
Amongst the traps I'd laid
My heart a shoddy place to dwell
For such a price was paid
To lift these bonds, and clear the sky
For wondrous light to bring
But once again, alone felt I,
Too jealous of my King
To see beyond the depth of life,
To feel the other side
To trust beyond all worldly strife
And seek and to abide
How quickly He has chastened me
Reminded of my fall
And how marvelous a thing to see
In the midst of all
For He is Lord, and He still sees
No matter what may come
For He alone receives our pleas
Though we only offer some
But now as I wait for dawn to rise
His Spirit what I seek
I pray to receive redeeming eyes
Upon this man, so weak
Who's heart was stirred, and silenced still
By the selfsame King
Who promised abundances in His will
Of whom I still will sing
And so the bonds were loosed from me,
And grasping for the air
I saw clearly reigning - He!
Arms open, standing there
Awaiting trust, to follow on,
No matter what the cost
For though it came, and though is gone
He never leaves it lost.
Two fish in a tank. One turns to the other and says, "You know how to drive this thing?"

I love this poem, Nu-En-Jin. Sorry, I couldn't hate it. ^___^ I have to add, I really think your avatar is cool. Who is it?

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

That's a great poem. Do you have a favorite poet or poem?
Our lives are but a vapor, let us not let waste our time and breath on vanities, but let us spend ourselves for the Kingdom, seeking a better resurrection.
