Long Time, No See

Postby Haibane Shadsie » Sat Jun 26, 2004 1:36 am

Hello, there. I've been absent for a while here, haven't I? I haven't even been lurking. I was thinking of getting back into this place again.

I haven't done much anime-wise. The last new anime I saw was Haibane Renmei, but of course, though I have a few titles laying around that I haven't bothered to watch yet because I'm lazy about reading subtitles or something. As far as manga... yeah... I got Trigun Maxium 1 in English, yay! I think I posted a topic a while back about "Naussicaa of the Valley of the Wind" that I was meaning to check but forgot completely about!

Life wise - it's been hard. I've been looking for work. I have a job interview lined up for Tuesday, I hope it goes well. I got a new kitten today. I fell off a horse last week. I'm okay, just got a big bruise. It was kinda fun - I was laughing when it happened.

My websites - are gone. I decided not to pay for the web domain for another year, as I'm kinda broke now. I just created a new signiture because I've been feeling politically angry lately. I'm thinking of going to see "Fairenheight 9/11" since I've been hearing so much about it on CNN and because I haven't seen a Micheal Moore movie yet. I'm wondering how many people here will be irked by my sig. I hope no one, but I don't really care.

Um.. I've been doing art and writing, yes. Hopefully, I'll stick around... maybe become encouraged to post some of my new writing. I've been doing a lot of orignals, but my most recent completed writing is a fanfiction for the book "Tuck Everlasting" if anyone's read that and is interested in reading a fanfic on it.

Well...um... meow?

Hey Haibane, good to see you again. Job interview Tuesday, I thought you said a long time ago that you got a job? I agree with your sig - God is indeed, non-partisan, and everyone should do their duty, and be faithful with the opportunity and responsibility that we have to vote. Conscience has an s before the c, by the way.

Bummer you can't keep the website, but I'm glad I at least got to see your art before it closed. You're quite talented, and I pray that you can use those talents for the glory of God.

Have fun with the kitten, and welcome back Haibane.

The job I got didn't work out so well. It was basically freelance - come in to work for this print shop when they had work for me, and... they've just had the big summre drop off in business. *Sigh* I'm not needed. My funds are dwindling.

Yet, I take on another pet. -_-. He was so cute and sweet! He's an all black kitty - a Kuroneko! Heh. I've been calling him "Vash", but I have a vote up on my Deviant Art account on voting for names. "Vash" was winning, so... yeah. I thought - cute irony to call a kuroneko (Vash's symbol of bad luck) by his name. Cat's also a Vash-kinda cat. Heh. Very personable.

Oh, for those who want to to still see my art, I have a Deivant Art account. http://shadsie.deviantart.com/ I'm selling prints there *hint, hint.* I also have an account at Ebay where I'm selling my bone art (painted animal skulls and such). I'm bonekeepershadsie on there. http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=bonekeepershadsie&iid=3729937269&frm=284 Feel free to look me up. I NEED money if you WANT unusual art!

Um... meow.

Welcome back, Shadsie! Yay for falling off horses, and yay for kittens! An all-black cat, eh? I would call him Jiji, as in "Kiki's Delivery Service." But Vash is good too. (Does destruction follow in his wake?) ^_^

I really like your bone art. Unfortunately I can't buy it, as I am a starving artist myself. I think the cow's jawbone is my favorite.

It's great your back, Shadsie. *HUGS* ^___^ I will remember you in my prayers, sorry that job didn't work out. I'll have to go check out your Deviant Art site. Is your writing over there?

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Welcome back, and I'm glad you're here.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

9/11 was the only Moore film I've seen. I have little interest in seeing his others, now. Like I've said before, mixed feelings about it... and I am despressed!

You know, I might not be around for very long. I think I'm cruising for a banning. If I do get banned... um... goodbye.

I'm just jaded and frustrated with life right now. I need work...

Oh, and a certain other member of this board who got banned a long time ago... told me she actually attempted suicide last night. - yet... does anyone here still contact her? Does anyone care?

Would anyone care about me?
