Yes, yaoi and homosexuality in general is wrong. I am not arguing that.

However, applying adjectives such as those you have used to people who do consider themselves to be homosexuals will accomplish nothing, and can do a great deal of harm. Most people already think Christians hate their guts, and if they looked at what you posted, they'd probably find confirmation for that. The number of people who have been converted to Christianity by being called poopheads is pretty low.

You asked who comes up with this stuff. Let me answer you. Whether you wish to believe it is a genetic, social or developed characteristic, there do exist a great many people who have homosexual leanings, in both genders. These, regardless of origin, can be extremely hard to get rid of. In some cases it is arguable that such is completely impossible.

Of course, many other people have inherent sinful natures as well. Some people are prone to lying, others to pedophilia, some to irrational violence, etc. Each of us as Christians has our own cross to bear. But that doesn't mean we have any right to heckle other people for theirs, or do our best to trip them up in their walk.

Have either of you ever heard of "hate the sin, love the sinner?" It might be cliche, but please keep it in mind. I don't like it when someone is being prideful, but that doesn't mean I have to jump on their backs about it. The point is to be helpful to that person as a Christian, not attack them.

That being said, I have been taken off guard by random yaoi as well. It can be quite annoying. Once, male/male friendships were purer than male/female ones, because there was never any romantic assumptions to be made. Now, that isn't so, and I find myself on edge while reading anything...

yeah. you're wise. ^_^ sorry though. i just really, truly had no idea what yaoi was until now! I'm sorry! See, I don't think I have a right to judge people for their sexual preference, but those are people. in anime, [that is what yaoi is, right? boy..stuff...in anime?] it isn't by the anime character's choice, it's because of the artists....haha. that souinds so pathetic....but anyways, i formally apologize to thee and anyone else.

Yes, maybe its just how the world has corrupted that friendship that even as Christians sometimes get unnerved by even the most innocent male friendships. The best example of this is the last scene of Rotk, I was uncomfortable when Frodo and Sam stood there staring at each other. It didn't help of course when some idiotic guy said, "Just kiss already!". I know that it was an intense brotherly love; you can't go through such an experience with another guy and not become brothers from it. Sam was married to a woman for goodness sake! Yet the uncomfortability was still there.

That is a very good example. Thankfully, that didn't cross my mind... but I knew people would be thinking many things along the same lines simply because the cast is almost exclusively male.

This reminds me of another annoying factor: the more male the cast of a given anime is, the more yaoi there is likely to be.

And yes, yaoi is male homosexuality within manga. Still, condemnation of a nonreal practice translates into condemnation of the real thing.

Yeah! Some people I know kept on talking about how "It's so obvious that Frodo and Sam are 'together'" I completely agree with you about the brotherly love thing. But, I wasn't uncomfortable when I watched that scene. I wished that I could have a relationship with a friend as strong as they had.

Even worse than movies is the feeling I get that I cannot have a close male friend.:bang:
Seriously.

 I didn't even have close male friends in high school and people thought that I was gay, let alone if I had had a friend I hung out with a lot.:mutter:

Frusterating experience to say the least... and I still don't like to hang out with other guys alot, mainly due to that.

that's really sad and I'm sorry to hear that. We sisters usually have less obstacles in forming close gal friendships.

I saw this stupid banner that paired Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in the Pirates of Caribbean. Hello??? It's SOOOOOOOOOO clear that Bloom's character is madly in love with the girl. I just don't get it. I give up trying to understand some of these fans.

erm...I ought to rant at MyrrhLynn's Anti Yaoi forum instead. Sorry everyone. *leaves*

Interesting... I can't believe I forgot to join O_o;;; And is it just me... or was there another thread on this a long time ago? I think I confused that one with this and thought I already am a supporter

Anyway, sorry for being late to the scene but add me as a supporter Myrrhlynn! It's great to take a bold stand like this ^^

I just noticed that my ennumerated name is listed as "us pseudonym." It's been quite a while since I was mistaken for a major land mass (by which I refer to the time that oldphilosopher did the same thing). However, feel free to use my full screen name, uncreative pseudonym.

In addition, I joined the forums under the same name. Obviously, I can't go beyond any of the restrictions until you change my usergroup. Do you insist upon an e-mail to do this?

I completely agree with this anti-yaoi concept. I find it sick and disturbing along with really hindering the image of anime to those who are not to familar with it.

I'll be a supporter!
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Very good, did you draw the drawings for this page?
