Who is your Confirmation saint, and why did you chose him/her

I also chose St. Francis. I really admired his humility and radical living out of the Gospel message. For a while I was discerning joining the Franciscan order.

My confirmation saint was St. John, because of what I perceived to be an outstanding loyalty to Jesus, and maybe the fact that he's the only apostle that wasnt martyred

hmm, this is interesting. THanks to JS ive learnt a lot about the Roman Catholic Church. Personally, I dont fancy a fallible man as a Confirmation saint. Id choose Jesus

When I was confirmed (I did grow up in a Catholic church), I wasn't required to pick a confirmation saint. We just needed a Godmother or Godfather. 0.o I wonder why?

So I suppose I don't have one......and will leave this thread peacefully.

I feel kinda bad reviving this since it was a little controversial, but I found my friend SamuraiDragon so I thought I'd post where he'd see. Hello!

My confirmation Saint was St. Francis Xavier. I took on his name of Xavier to have a special guardian who I believe to already be counted among Christ's friends in heaven. He was a Jesuit missionary who did extensive work to India and Japan.

It occurs to me now that the Japanese influence even affected my confirmation.
If I hadn't chosen St. Francis Xavier, I would have chosen either
St. Jude Patron of lost causes or St. Rita Patron of impossible cases.

Ultimately, I must not forget that confirmation is a furthur indwelling of the Holy Spirit within my soul and prepared me for the topsy turvy years of High School as a true Soldier of Christ. The indelible mark it placed on my soul will ever serve as evidence to the evil one that I am in God's army, and am here to be ever a thorn in his side as a mere sinner attempting to serve Christ.

I've read a book about him and his work in Japan called "Silence" by someone Endo. Very good, I highly rec. it.

Sorry to add this but, I wonder where Samuraidragon went.
I wanted to hear his take on Maximillian Kolbe.
The only tidbit I'll share is that he started a printing press in Japan while being a missionary there. So, that's how he ties in to anime. . . sorta.
