But cowboy bebop is the one with the manga right now so I'll choose it. I love the "Shooting Stars series!"
Noir? the 2 female assassins with an attitude? they already had an anime for that.^^

Hmm...

My favorite anime... It depends on my mood.

When I'm ready to think really hard, I like "Serial Experiments Lain" In that category, I can add "Boogiepop Phantom"

When I'm ready to cry? Well, I'm a big cryer, so it doesn't take much... I cry in Lain and Boogiepop... I think I cried once in Excel Saga (maybe not, but that's just how easy it is for me to cry when I want to.) When I like big emotional things, There's "Hotaru no Haka" aka "Grave of the Fireflies"

When I want a Love Story? I liked "Aa! Megamisama!" because it was so simple. I liked Kare Kano, even though it wasn't nearly as simple as "Aa! Megamisama." Though some don't like that it's about kids, there's also "Kodomo no Omocha." It's way too complex for a kid's show, I say... hehehe... It is a kid's show, but it's complex enough to be watchable. The funniest thing about calling it a romance is that they never get together...

If I really just want some simplicity, especially after watching something like "Lain", Sailormoon always worked for me. Or maybe Excel Saga, not counting the last episode or the Guitar guy episode. Then there's Nadesico, though that gets a bit more complex as time goes on. What really takes the cake for simplicity is "Totoro." That particular movie is so simple, it just makes you feel like a kid again. Besides Totoro, which is simple and fuzzy, Grave of the Fireflies is simple on the surface, and can be enjoyed in simplicity. It can also be enjoyed as a case of symbolism (which permeates the film) and also as a matter of history, especially if you research... So you can understand it simply or you can go deeper. It's not fuzzy like Totoro is... It's, in fact, one of the saddest movies ever made.

What I watch really depends on my mood. I really like to Marvel at Miyazaki films such as "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi" or "Mononoke Hime", and even "Totoro" to a lesser degree. They are excelent works of animation, and are the worthy successors of works that Walt Disney had done. Beyond Miyazaki, and Beyond Walt Disney (the man, not the company) it was all down hill. If you are an anime fan, you really need to watch Miyazaki movies, as well as other Ghibli Films (such as Grave of the Fireflies.) They have no fanservice in them, and they are beautifly drawn and incredibly well orchestrated (not reffering to music, but elements of the films)

SO yeah... I've listed way too many favorites...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.
