I loved Pinkie's new batch of antics, and epic battle commander Twilight was amazing. It's really beginning to show that they are writing these episodes more with the older male audience in mind now. Since my little sister watches the series as well (And since it does not seem to have any spoilers concerning the rest of the series), I actually plan to watch the Future Twilight episode while it is recorded on my DVR. I looks AWESOME, and I am not patient enough to wait till I get up to that point.

This episode is so very, very special to me
[SPOILER]It is such an irony that this episode's lesson is the exact lesson I was suppose to learn as I worried about this episode since a few weeks back, I feel so completely silly about it.
A great episode that was very nicely balanced out by Spike and Pinkie. It was indeed very predictable, I saw some pictures of future Twilight before I saw the episode (it was on EqD's banner!), and pretty much already guess where it would go.
I agree with Felix about the writing, and the Twilight's future look was totally Snake.
A lot of fun in the episode, but I'm going to focus on the break-in. When I saw Twilight sneaking in I was wondering: “Why the heck is she sneaking into Canterlot castle's library, she should have practically lived in the library, she's the Princess' student, she should have all access.” And they did exactly that! And I loved that they did that, because it's something that I really loved about season 1. How Twilight has more authority than the mayor, how Spike could get Hoity Toity to come look at Rarity's fashion show, the donut shop. All things hinting at a past life of Twilight we never got to experience.
And I loved seeing Luna's night guards again. [/SPOILER]

In other news: It looks like we're not getting a Scootaloo focused episode this season. The best we can hope for is that Scootaloo takes the lead in the upcoming CMC episode like Sweetie Belle did in 'Hearts and hoofs day'. That's really too bad, it would have made this a perfect season for me. But here's hoping for lots of Scootaloo in S3.

I completely concur with you, Bio. I love the references to her past life. It would be cool to see an episode set in the past that explores her previous life in Canterlot!

My hooves are also crossed for a Scootaloo episode in season 3! I wonder how long we'll have to wait before that season airs... hopefully not too long!

It would be great if we got a few special episodes with the DVDs, an episode for each of the main showing their past.
At least we know that S3 have been in production for a while, so it's probably safe to start worrying about S4 now (forgetting this weeks lesson already:shake:).

Granted, I don't know a lot about the process of how shows getting renewed (or don't), but I would say that I highly doubt there's much to worry about, for a few reasons. My Little Pony is by far the most successful show on the Hub right now. Plus, there aren't even that many shows on the whole network, so it wouldn't make much sense for them to cancel any of them, least of all MLP. Also, the fan base for the show is growing steadily and rapidly as far as I can tell. There's really no reason at all for it to get cancelled. It's effectively reaching a people group right now that has never been reached with this product line, and to cancel it at the height of its popularity and expansion would just be a terrible business move. I guess it's possible for them to think that this is just a fad and that the popularity will wane before season 4 comes around, but by the pattern so far, I'd say that that's very unlikely to happen, so we're probably quite safe!

I have to I agree with you on everything. And HUB has proven to care about their fans, unlike some other networks, coughDisneycough. So the only thing to do now is wonder when the return of Trixy and Gilda will happen.

I have to agree with you guys. Since season 3 has been in production since last year, we have a pretty good chance of seeing new episodes, say this fall. But, its hard for me to worry about it since I am on episode 14 of season 1.

[SPOILER]What a great adventure episode! Rainbow is losing her 'tough girl' act though, she better step it up. I liked the Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow combo in this episode. And the phoenix were great.
I can't really think if anything else to comment on, it was a really good solid episode. Not a lot of surprises, but still very enjoyable. Maybe I'll think of something later

I always theorized that Spike was a fairy-dragon because he could be closely related to magic. But considering how he looked in 'Secret to my excess' he could maybe be an earth dragon. But I think there's more to it, Spike could be a special species of dragon. In 'Secret to my excess' his sudden growth was a little strange and now with these teen dragons who didn't grow into full dragons although they're obviously greedy, it makes Spike even more mysterious.

[Spoiler]That was definitely a good episode! I didn't enjoy it quite as much as most of the recent ones, but it definitely had its brilliant moments! And I thought it added a lot to Spike's character. My favorite bit was definitely Rarity going all fight mode. The bit with the real dragon that looked just like Rarity's costume was also hilarious. And that costume itself... priceless XD What fun. The phoenixes were so cool! I think Rainbow should have gotten a phoenix for a pet in episode 7. Speaking of... where's Tank been lately?[/spoiler]

In other news, I went to McDonalds today and got an Applejack toy. I bought a happy meal and had to ask for the girl toy instead of the boy toy XD and then they gave me Littlest Pet Shop instead which was the backup toy I guess for when they ran out, so I had to ask the manager if they had any more Ponies and he had to dig through the back for a few minutes before he found the single remaining Applejack. Win!

I'm still going to be very busy with ponies after the season ends. I'm on a PMV break right now, but I'm preparing to do a few PMVs at the end of the season, some I've been looking forward to do for a while now.
I'm also looking forward to the game designers putting in a bit more time in their projects (does that make me sound evil? ) I'm looking forward to a lot of them and wish them luck in their development.
Also looking forward to some of the web series. Need more 'Doctor Whooves and assistant' and the Phoenix Wright MLP crossover should have part 3 out soon. My like for the PW MLP crossover is actually strange. Most of the ideas I dislike being put into the pony universe (Murder, humans etc) is present in it. Yet I love it. It's done really well and quite funny.
And of coarse most importantly. Somewhere in the dry season we're going to have to hold a little CAA pony marathon or something, and discuss some of the past episodes we're watching.

So much to do before S3 starts.
