Actually, logic would assume that since Season one was 26 episodes that Season two should be just as long, right?
There are at least two more episodes regardless ^^;

And its been sort of confirmed that there will be a third season (according to several voice actors, but no official word from Hasboro yet.)

The name, concept and idea of a 7th main character called 'Minty' go completely against everything the show is working with, as well as the fact that they have plenty of background characters they could elevate before making a totally new character. Sounds like fan-fiction to me.

If you played the flash game where Applebloom finds a village in the forest, if that was canon, you could say that the town was built around the castle, then they destroyed everything when the cutie marks began to appear.

Plus, in the last episode, they all pretty much hid their cutie marks. Cept for Rainbow Dash if I remember correctly.

Plus, for those of you doubting about Minty, she's listed as an Earth Pony on MLP's wiki page.

And the odds of them making her a main character are astronomically low. Purely from a writers standpoint, it makes no sense, since she would be useless. The center of the show is emphasizing the elements of harmony, their relationship to friendship and how each character embodies, grows to or fails to express their element, and if any episode were to feature the actual elements she'd be standing off to the side just sort of... staring. There isn't a 7th element, so there's no place for a 7th main cast member, and honestly Spike fills whatever role a 7th pony would anyways, but with much more utility in the writing department since he has his own unique conflicts. To incorporate minty (or any 7th 'Mane' character pony) would be to change the entire premise of the show, and would cause incredible stress in the writers room, especially since they already regularly have episodes with 1 or more of the main characters never making a showing. If they want to sell more minty toys all they have to do is give her a funny background scene and voice and the fandom will grab a few extras anyhow.

Edit: Also, Minty's original VA is already 5 different characters. I sort of think that they'd consider that.

I know, I don't know if I can handle waiting two whole weeks for a new episode. I have wondered about the Alicorns. I thought that Celestia and Luna were the only two, but apparently there are others. I always sorta assumed that those two sisters were some kind of deities, but they must be mortals. I mean, if Prince Blueblood is Celestia's nephew, then there'd have to be other Alicorns! But where did they come from? I want answers...

One of the main themes of the show is that friends have an innate bond between them that always exists. This was the point of Cutie Mark Chronicles where all six received their cutie mark at the same time, as well as the scene in the very first episode where all three of the CMC were hiding under the table when Nightmare Moon showed up, despite not actually meeting officially and forming the CMC until much later.

It would look extremely ridiculous and lazy for them to add a seventh cast member and go "Oh hey I saw the Sonic Rainboom too yep" just to instill the bonds that the show has been setting up, as well as the fact that there are only six elements of Harmony and were fully combined, unless they're going to go "Oh wait there was a seventh we didn't know about" which wouldn't work considering Celestia was the one who found (or even possibly created) them.

Put simply, there won't be a seventh main cast member. Minty might end up being a significant background character like Cheerilee is (Cheerilee shows up quite a lot, especially lately), but she's not going to become any point of focus of the show. Also remember that getting a toy isn't the equivalent of becoming a main character...there's plenty of toys for characters that haven't even made an appearance in the show yet...like Pepperdance, Lemon Hearts, and so on.

Anyway, the episode was good. But it needed more Scootaloo. Everything needs more Scootaloo. Anyway Pinkie and Fluttershy were definitely the best parts of the episode, and it's nice to see that at least some tension existed between the three races of ponies at some point. Also, although it had been hinted at and suspected for a while, this episode does confirm that earth ponies are the only ones that have the ability to grow plants.

Curious about the flag at the end of the episode though, it had Luna and Celestia on it despite the fact that they were nowhere in the story...but I probably shouldn't think too hard on it.

Pinkie Pie definitely stole the whole show in that episode. My favorite line was "That means I can also think inside a chimney! Can YOU think inside a chimney?" I swear, that pony is so quotable... *mumbles something about assaulting someone with cake*

I did wonder about the flag, too. If it was an accident, that seems like it would been a fairly glaring error on the designers' part, because it was really obvious. But then again, we really know very little about Celestia/Luna, so it's possible that they existed before the founding of Equestria I suppose...

What occured to me is, while it's a winter holiday episode, the actual holiday is more like the 4th of July. Maybe it's like when people run the (current) flag up at the end of a 4th of july show or something rather than the original american flag from the revolution.

We have no new episode this weekend, that makes me sad. So, I'll be watching some of the older episodes in the week and I was thinking this: Pony moments that was mostly looked over or missed. Because of all the awesomeness in every episode some of the more subtle moments that makes the show great are missed. (and just so that I can post this, because it's one of my favourite moments.)

Thanks ^^; WMM is all I've had to work with over the years, so I have had to learn how to use it to its fullest potential. No easy task, I assure you. It's quite a pain. This last summer I actually had the opportunity to use Final Cut, and boy, I'd punch a pony to get my hands on that! ...which leads me to a question. You said you use Premiere 6.5? How is that? I've been looking for a program that would be more powerful than WMM but still simple enough to use on a 4-year-old laptop. Any suggestions?

Indeed, Merry Christmas! I've also been going back and watching old episodes in this down time. I never noticed that about what Twilight said about flowers in that episode. That's pretty interesting! I didn't catch that Twilight liked to eat flowers. Was that mentioned somewhere else in another episode?

One of my favorite moments is in "Lesson Zero" when, after Celestia removes the enchantment from Twilight's Smarty Pants doll, Big Mac still loves it and he grabs it an runs off with it. That definitely made me laugh. I think Big Mac needs more screen time.
