Troy Davis- Possibly Innocent Man on Death Row

Postby Cognitive Gear » Wed Sep 21, 2011 4:58 pm

For anyone who hasn't heard, there is a potentially innocent man scheduled to be executed very soon. He is getting an appeal at the Supreme Court to see if his execution can be stayed while it is investigated further.

Please don't make this political or theological, I think that we can all agree that an innocent man should not be killed.

Pray for him, and for the judges to have wisdom beyond their own means.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

I've been signing many petitions. Overall I've just out it in God's hands. *shuts up before delving into theological explanation why*

And they just said on the news that he has been executed. :(
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Wait, I never heard this story. Don't know where I've been. What was he convicted of? If he was truly an innocent man then this is a great loss indeed. :(

Let's not make this into a discussion of the merits or lack thereof of the case. There are several very strong opinions on the issue.

Best option would be to Google if you want more details.
