I'm lonely and angry

Ive wasted like five weeks trying to fit in with a group of people in my college. I don't know what to do yesterday I tried to fit in with them by trying to learn to play their stupid online game but when I could'nt play well or understand all their computer lingo they condescended to me and wouldnt help so I left. Whatever hanging out with them was miserable but my problem is I'll still feel miserable being myself cuz I dont know a single person at school. All my real friends have moved and are busy in the military so I really don't know what to do. I'm getting really frustrated! I want people to like me but I'm tired of pretending and trying hard to be somthing I'm not what should I do?

The key is finding people that you fit in with, without changing yourself. If you have to change or else, then they aren't people you should be hanging out with. You should never feel miserable around people you want to be friends with. Sometimes there will be people you don't mesh with perfectly (and that's okay), but if they're making fun of you for that, it's not cool.

I know it sounds cliche', but just be yourself around people. Atria is right. If you're trying to change who you are to fit in with a particular group, stop. It's a waste of time and energy. I know it sucks that this group you tried to fit in with didn't turn out the way you had hoped, but cheer up. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER FOLKS AROUND!
