IHOP shooting.

Postby Bobtheduck » Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:22 pm

A guy went to an IHOP in Carson City, NV with an AK-47 and shot it up, and killed 4 people before killing himself. My mom and dad were there visiting my Sister and Brother-in-law and their kids and grandkids. My Dad, Mom, Sister, Niece-in-law and two great nieces were all at the IHOP when it happened. They crawled out of the place on their hands and knees.

They didn't get hurt, but I know that my mom has a weak heart.

... Bob, I'm so sorry. I'll be praying for you and your family and that God brings them a peace that can only come from Him.

My sister-in-law told me my dad had to crawl back in to get my Mom's heart medicine from her purse, and he saw the people die.

That is just a terrible thing to go through, I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry. :( I'll certainly be keeping both your family and the ones for those who died in my prayers.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I can't even imagine. How awful. :(

Praise God your family wasn't hurt, but what a terrible thing to experience.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Man, your family made the news. I saw this on my ipod touch while I was in the Home Depot parking lot waiting for dad. Then we went to lunch and they mentioned it on Fox News.
But seriously, I'll be keeping your family in my prayers, bob.

This is the interview with my dad on CNN. I'm surprised I actually found something that worked in Korea.

They're still in Nevada, but I think they finally have their car back. They just stayed an extra night because my Mom wouldn't be able to handle the drive home. My sister-in-law said they think my parent's car my have had bullet holes in it, but my mom didn't mention that when I called, so maybe that was old info. I think they have their car back, but they're going back to California in a few hours when they wake up (if they have the car back... Maybe they still don't...)

I can't even begin to think about how terrifying this all must have been for your family, I'm so glad they all made it out alive. Thanks for the video, I think I saw part of this on the news last night when I was out eating, but the TV didn't have any sound. Do they know why that man did this yet? I don't understand people anymore. :(

My Niece-in-law has been having chest pains and panic attacks constantly since it happened. I don't know how my mom has coped since she went back home. I hope to talk to her tomorrow. Seems like they're all going to need counseling.

A little late on the band wagon but that is awful. I hope your family will recover from such a horrible experience. I'm glad that they are alright but I am truly sorry for the other 4 souls. I will keep you in prayer, definately.
