Belated Happy 4th of July, my American friends!

I just spent time with my parents because their wedding anniversary was on the same day.
Whatever the season in life, the RIGHT attitude makes all the difference.

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1-2

"Though our paths may have diverged, you must continue to live out your life with all your might; you must never consider your own life to be something insignificant, and you must never forget about the friends whom you loved for as long as you live."
The Third Rule of Fairy Tail

"Mistakes are not shackles that halt one from stepping forward. Rather, they are that which sustain and grow one's heart.

Same here --most of TX's counties are under a burn ban. Stupid lack of rain and wildfires...

I spent the day traveling home to TX from PA --I hate airports, so it was a stressful day. Got to have Panda Express when I got back, though. :)

Got 3 hours of sleep last night because of the dog that found us at 9 at night- he was fussy and lonely. My fourth was good.... except for that and finding out what's going to happen to the dog *sniff*

Had a pretty cool night! Living in an area that allows people to set off their own fireworks is pretty cool. My roomies and I drove out to a park on the east side of town and sat a park and watched the entire city light these really amazing fireworks. It got to the point where we didn't know which direction to look.

I guess living in a flat area has its advantages XD. It was pretty cool.

There is a burn ban here too. No one seemed to notice though. They shot fireworks anyway. Crazy state. I'm glad though, I love fireworks more than the 4th of July itself. (Hint: I'm not very patriotic)

I basically spent the day reading my Bible. I think the Fourth of July should Aldo be a day to celebrate our independence from sin. God bless America!

I was boring and did pretty much nothing.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Pretty much relaxed all day and then walked up on the hill behind my house and sat in the park watching the neighborhoods below ours shooting off fireworks.

Yesterday was going to have a huge surprise attached to the holiday. My twin sister, who got married and lives over in North Carolina (And is moving back in a few months) was going to arrive at the airport at 10:00 PM. And I was going to sneak away from the family BBQ and go get her, and bring her back just as my family was lighting off the finale fireworks so no one would notice her walking up. Bah, but of COURSE her flight got delayed and she didn't arrive until 4:30 AM...so we had to just tell everyone what was going on, grr.

But it was still great fun. :] There were TONS of fireworks around the neighborhood...and they were ALL illegal too since any fireworks you can see in the sky are illegal in Oregon, lol. XD We got Roman Candles too, and the guys of the party had a Roman Candle war.....yes....they shot them at each other without any protection over their faces or anything, lol. it was hilarious! We went over to the elementary school to do it in the baseball field. All 5 of them stood at a base (On at the pitcher's mound too) and started shooting at each other XD And of course, right when they lit them....a Sheriff came driving by and stopped at the red light.....then just drove off, haha. I guess he just assumed they would take each other out anyway.

Oh! And then they all did rock paper scissors since there were only 4 roman candles left over from the first round, and the one who lost was the "Target"...yeah, poor guy, he had 4 people shooting fireworks at him. it was quite the show!

I'm at field camp in Montana, where every sort of firework was legal for the Fourth. Thanks to a short day of work where we stayed on campus instead of going into the field, someone bought fireworks. There were a bunch of these bee-shaped thingies that randomly fly around when you toss them into the air, some sparklers, those tanks with wheels... All good, clean, highly dangerous fun.

But the real highlight of the night was a set of artillery shells they got; those are the things that fly up into the air and look more or less like small professional fireworks. For the grand finale, we put two shells in the tube at once. (Don't try this at home, kiddies!) The first one went off all right. The second one didn't. It exploded about ten feet in the air, the sparks flew into the bystanders, everyone was running, it was awesome, and miraculously, nobody got hurt! This time. It was awesome, in a fiery, near-death sort of way.

(Incidentally, I think about half the crowd, made up of students from my college, had had a few drinks, but not the people who came up with the idea, strangely enough.)
We are loved even though we suck.
