Today: Prince Albert of Monaco weds woman from South Africa

Postby Riggidig » Sat Jul 02, 2011 2:19 pm

Not sure how many of you guys know about this, but Prince Albert of Monaco married a South African woman (Charlene Wittstock) today. Unfortunately the event was dampened a bit by rumours that Charlene got cold feet and wanted to board a plane back to South Africa, but was prevented from doing so (they even took her passport away just to make sure). Anyway, I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I saw the wedding on TV today and poor Charlene did NOT look happy (or maybe it was just me). Go here for more details:

I bet this isn't what little girls expect when they dream of marrying a prince.

True. I feel really bad for her, finding out just before her "dream wedding" that her husband-to-be might have had an affair while they were engaged. So sad :shake:

So this is how it works in that country? Ah, well. Still so sad though.

Agreed. At one stage she just broke down and started crying. The commentators were like "Oh she's crying tears of joy". I was like "BULL! She's crying cause she can't believe she's marrying this guy!"

Well, I mean, I don't feel that sorry for her, because she is fully aware of his character and chose to marry him anyway.

This of course begs the question . . . Does she have Prince Albert in a can?

If this post seems too utterly absurd or ridiculous to be taken seriously, don't. :)
