The Great Anime Hunt! =)

Postby AngelSakura » Tue May 18, 2004 5:00 pm

My grandpa, who suffers from "all anime are like Pokemon or DBZ" symptom, has told me about an anime he saw a long time ago. I wanted to find it for him. His description of it was it wasn't for kids and the main character was a woman. He described the woman as having a "different body type" (don't ask me what that means...), being very thin, may or may not have had black hair, and wearing black all the time.
We have already comfirmed that the anime wasn't Neon Genisis Evangelon, Gunm (Battle Angel Alita), or Ghost in the Shell, the last two being the ones I knew involved women with long black hair.
Please help us on our anime hunt! Please attach pics because my grandpa might not recognize the title. Good luck! =)
Think happy thoughts.

Well, Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop wears really skimpy clothing and has black hair...I dunno if that's what he was thinking. Although she dresses in yellow rather than black. I'll attach a picture (clean, I promise!)

Robin Sena wears black all the time, though i think this anime was made more recently...

How 'long ago' did your grandpa see it?
Did the main char. wear a kimono-type outfit?

Here's an anime that comes into mind when you describe it:

Galaxy Express 999

One of the main characters is a woman, she's got a "different body figure" (very thin), she always wears black and this is an anime title old enough to fit your grandfather's generation (I think). The only thing I wasn't sure was...she's blonde. Don't know what else you're looking for if she's got dark hair. ^^;

I've included an attachment of the woman character and another main character guy. Hope this is what you're looking for.

Edit: I also have no idea what this series is about...so I have no clue if it's suitable for kids or not. ^^;
