Two Prayer Request

Postby TopazRaven » Wed Jun 15, 2011 8:21 am

So I have two prayer request today and for once they're not really for me. Yay!

The first and most important one. I was just informed a neighbor down the street has prostate cancer. This neighbor and his family have been friends with me and my mom since I was a child so I hope you guys could keep him in your prayers. He goes back to the doctor on Thursday to determine what kind of treatment he should be getting, right now I think he's only getting radition therapy. I only really found this out recently from my mother since she was talking to his wife a few days ago so I don't know everything yet.

The next one is a bit of an interesting story. My uncle went to take a job down in North Carolina and brought a work truck back this past Saturday. Yesterday he heard weird noises coming from the back, went to look and found a young kitten inside! He brought her over to my house and it looks like she's only about 3 weeks old. Wither she came all the way from North Carolina with the truck or her mother somehow got into the back while here and left the kitten there we don't know, but my mother and I are going to be taking care of her now.

Once she is old enough to be adopted we'll be taking her to the non-kill cat shelter that we are pretty much staff at by now so she can find a good home. We have 8 other cats in the house right now (7 our own and 1 a semi-foster. Long story). So yeah, we can't keep her ouselves sadly. Considering her situation I named her Carolina. We just call her Carrie for short. She looks pretty healthy so far surprisngly, but I was hoping you guys could pray for her survivel anyway. She's still quite young after all. She's so strong though so I think she'll make it. She's the fiestiest kitten I've ever had here and we've raised quite a few litters of kittens by now, three in fact. They all had their mother though in least. Dear Carolina needs to be bottle fed for the the next 2 or 3 weeks so it's a good thing I'm not working yet!
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lol, I probably will take a picture soon. I could put it in the post your pic section, it just wouldn't be a picture of me. Unless I got my mom to take it with me and the kitten. And thank you very much!

Aw, praying for all of them! Sad to hear about the kitten losing it's mom (and I bet it's mom misses it, too), but I'm glad you can care for it in the meanwhile!

Sweet Davey-Jones Topaz! What a coincidence! We just found this stray puppy today and took her in! My sister was taking a walk when she noticed her following her from behind. However, her fur in the back is very clumped and mangy and we probably need to skin her fur off. In the morning, we plan to post signs that we found her and, if we have no luck finding the owner, plan to take her to the local SPCA (a better option because they do not euthanize pets) or Humane Society. There were alot of neighbors that said they heard a small dog wandering around for days and we had two thunderstorms, so she's very lucky to be alive and healthy. Unfortunately, with my sister going to college in a different state, my workschedule and dorm life in college once school starting up, and my brother about to go to High school with sports in the afternoon, none of us can keep the dog. My grandmother already has our dog, and my aunt barely has time for anything else so our family members can't take care of her either. We're still thinking of what to call her by since it looks like she may already have a name (but she's collarless, so we have no idea). Unfortunately, we discovered that she only eats chicken.

In any case, I will definately be praying for your neighbor's health, as well as for the kitten's health and chance of finding a good home.

Thanks. Yeah, I feel bad to. Her mom is probably looking all over for her. Though I still question why a mother cat would put her kitten in the back of a trash truck. Lol.

Whoa, you've had quite the day to then I see! Thanks for the prayers and in return I'll pray for the puppy!

I'm honestly a little worried about Carolina. We'll just say she's had a bad day today in the bathroom category. Apparantly I might have been over feeding her. Though my uncle also mentioned he fed her creamer before he brought her over so it's very possible she's feeling sick from that to I guess.

That could be it. Cats, despite milk-lovers, are somewhat lactose intolerant. So are dogs, but cats have more sensitive stomaches. So maybe not as much milk or some dry (mashed) cat food would help the kitten.

Yes, I figured that. She isn't old enough for any soild food yet, we've been giving her formula specificaly made for nursing kittens, it's called KMR.

The dog's owner came by. Turns out, the dog's name was Nila. I'm glad we were able to find the dog's owner, but now that we don't see the dog as much, it is going to feel kinda empty, although we only had her for a day.

Aw, I'm glad the pup's owner found her in least! So, I actually called the vet today about Carolina. She said the creamer could have definitly caused her upset stomach, but she could also possible have roundworms. I decided to read up on that and am now completley freaked out because they can be transmitted from cat to person and can cause some pretty serious side effects on both. Like people have gone blind in one eye because the worms went into the eye tissue and they can go into the lungs and brain to apparantly. 0.o I'm paranoid...
