You know I actually never knew this. I learned something new today!
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.

Knew about Johnny, Caitlin from Vic and Caitlin's LJ and is very open about her faith. Knew about Luci Christian because of the fact that when Vic had church service at AWA con every year, the year that she was at AWA, she work with Vic with the service.

And if I'm not mistaken, both Vic and Johnny have recorded some music too. Johnny's even got his own band called Eyeshine.
(Am I right about that?)

Yeah. Johnny's even mentioned that occasionally people who like his band will go to cons to see them with no idea what the rest of the con will be like.

Actually, according to TV Tropes, Vic has a pretty huge hatedom (I won't say why, it involves a topic that is not permissible on CAA). Probably his Christian fans are the only fans he has.

There are some reasons for that.

Vic has his flaws just like everyone else, I'll just say that.

That's sad. He's so funny and animated (I don't mean literally :P). Howbout Johnny Yong Bosch?
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." He is, but I know that while I do like him, and he is very friendly, something about his body language throws me off whenever I see him at a panel.

But I'm getting to be indifferent about him and Johnny since they're in every anime dubbed ever. I'm sick of hearing their voices >.>"

I feel for you, Atria. I do like them, but I feel it would be nice to hear some new blood once in a while. It'd be even nicer if there were some companies that had as much clout as Disney does. They seem to get some great celebrities to do their dubs of Miyazaki movies. (like having Patrick Stewart on Nausicaa and Billy Crystal on Howl's Moving Castle. That was just too cool!) It'd be so awesome if we got more famous actors into voice acting. But I guess my dreams of another cartoon with say, Jonathan Frakes, will never happen.

While I've made jokes about this before and agree that it's tiring hearing them in so much that gets dubbed, it's not like this is a problem unique to English dubbing. I mean, how much has Rie Kugimiya been in lately? What about Miyuki Sawashiro, or Daisuke Ono? So yeah, Japan is just as guilty of re-re-using the same handful of people in their stuff, too.
They seem to get some great celebrities to do their dubs of Miyazaki movies. (like having Patrick Stewart on Nausicaa and Billy Crystal on Howl's Moving Castle.

1. The Miyazaki movies are licensed by Disney, who have the cash on hand to hire big name talent for dubbing. Funimation can't afford to get Johnny Depp or Natalie Portman.

2. Miyazaki movies are a couple of hours long. A 26 episode series or longer is at least 10 hours or so...that's a lot more voice work than a movie, and requires more time and thus more money.

3. Miyazaki movies often are released theatrically and will get exposure for the voice actors since their talent will be more mainstream. Nobody's going to notice if Brad Pitt voices some guy on a DVD-only release that's niche market, so they're not going to be willing to do it. Heck, we've only just now reached the point where celebrities are willing to voice video games. It used to be "Don't do a role in this video game, it's bad for your career," and has only in the last couple of years turned into "Do a role in this video game, it'll help your career." Since video games are much more popular than anime and it's JUST NOW become acceptable for celebrities to voice those, anime has a long way to go.

I haven't had an opportunity to notice, since my anime viewing time has been severely limited this semester. I'm sure I will over the summer, though. With any luck.

Since not all good actors on screen would make good voice actors, I disagree with this. I tend to get irked by some of the Miyazaki dubs because they cast actors not experienced with voice acting just for the big names. Acting on stage/TV is a bit different than voice acting.
But, it would be nice to get more good just voice actors into the scene. But it's a hard industry to break into since it's very competitive and small. The voices you hear a lot (and get sick of, sometimes) are the ones that are good at what they do (or good at a certain type of character, so they keep getting cast). Plus, it's easier and time saving to use someone already in the industry rather than holding open auditions. Hence, you'll hear Vic in both main roles and side or background character roles. Because he's in the studio already recording something, they can grab him real quick to record two lines for Soldier A without having to waste the time and money to cast someone new.

Also, what Nate said too.

Eh, I know I'll get some hate for this but I think Miyuki Sawashiro and Daisuke Ono have more talent than the typical high profile voice actor. They continue to get high profile roles because they're big name actors rather than because it's too expensive to find new talent. I mean, voice acting in Japan would have a larger talent pool(for anime, anyways) of talent because it's not seen as a dead-end for a career.

Vic does have a lot of fans but he continues to get every new role because they don't have enough people to give new roles to. Daisuke Ono gets new roles because he's really talented and can switch between "I hate violence," and "IZAYAAAAA-KUN!" really well.

People also don't complain because they can't pick them out as well. Honestly, Miyuki Sawashiro is the only seiyuu I can immediately recognize, and I pretty exclusively listen to subs now.
