Passion Week(Easter/Rescuration Sunday) is comming up next week

Postby UniqueAngelStar » Fri Apr 15, 2011 10:44 pm

Hello my fellow CAA members:

It is the most spiritual time of the year.

That means Good Friday is here again next week, following by Rescurration Sunday/Easter

The moment to reminds us when Jesus died on the cross and rise again for us.

So, what are you going and plans to do on that holiday?

My family is going to visist the bus driver church. XD And hot crossed buns are definitely on this list, whether they originated from pagan rituals or not! XD(kidding!) Oh, and hopefully roasted lamb...

I'm going to be singing in my church's singing group for Easter. We used to call it a choir, but we don't actually have enough singers to be called that anymore. :| I would probably actually be singing regularly in our worship team every sunday, except that I usually have a more important job modulating the sound at the sound booth in the back, and I can't trust anyone else to do it any more. :p I don't know what'll happen when I go away to college.

I doubt my family will go out or do anything special, beyond attending the extra Good Friday service -- though for us having all three of us in the same house for the six days of the Easter break will be quite special in and of itself!

One of the positive side-effects from my annoyance with Christmas in recent years has been an increased sense for Easter's importance as the central event in the Christian calendar.

(And, turning to less important but rather enjoyable matters, foodwise, on the Sunday we'll have a simnel cake, hot cross buns & I think we usually have cassata at Easter too. I'm looking forward to it though I suspect my arteries might not be.)

I am visiting my boyfriend and his family for a few days (since they live quite far away.) We haven't gotten to discuss much yet about what we'll do, since I'm still trying to find a relatively cheap flight...

My guess though is that we'll attend church together, that's as far as I know.

This will be my first Easter that I'm not spending with my family, so I have no idea what I'm going to be doing. Gonna see if I can afford the ham thing and maybe dye some eggs with friends and roomies? Maybe explode a few peeps in the microwave >:3

I'll probably see if I can find a sunrise service at my church and then go to church with my friend.

I work for like an hour that sunday though XD.

What me and my family usually do is have dinner together, watch a movie and just hang out. Though I've asked my mother about going to church Easter Sunday morning so that's a must. Hopefully they don't change the times for that on me. I really don't want to walk in during a service again.

My younger sibs and I will dye eggs (probably this week), definitely. That'll be messy as usual. XD And Mom will make paska bread, and this other Slovak funky cheese thing.

And I think we'll do church, of course. I'll see if my Easter dress from years ago fits anymore. XDDD I'm not sure if our church will give a Good Friday mass, and if we'd do it.

Man, at this one church we had four services during Passion Week. That was kinda tiring (we did a lot of the setup/cleanup at that church). @_@;;

I have a bit part in our local church's Easter production, so I'll be doing that once on Maundy Thursday and two times on Good Friday. I don't know of our plans for Easter Sunday but I imagine it would be the usual - a good time with family over a tasty meal.

I'm going to my church's Lord's Supper service tomorrow evening; it's our denomination's equivalent of the Easter service. It's not really a supper; just communion and foot-washing, but it's still a very spiritual, calming service.

Going to church for Easter celebration, than have a large dinner with the family. We'll probably incorporate some games and activities here and there. Either way, I'll be working hard on my exegesis for Biblical Studies.

Yay! Have fun with your family!

My family doesn't really do that much for Easter, aside from make a nice dinner. We will probably just hang around and watch movies or just relax in general. When I was younger we did the whole candy and egg hunt thing, but we really haven't done that in years...

My brother and I decorated some Easter eggs, and on Sunday, we're going to church as usual, then coming home to eat either turkey or ham for dinner. C= We were going to have a gigantic Easter egg hunt for the post that I live on (my dad runs the chapel), but another post made a mistake in ordering the stuff we needed, so we had to cancel it. That kind of made me upset, but at least my parents will probably do an Easter egg hunt for my brother and I.... So I still like Easter egg hunts at my age! So?

I get to sleep in while my little sisters leave early for worship team practice. Then we all go to church later and just chill in the afternoon.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." No plans except for going to the 11:00 service.

Friday service (Was good, went to a movie theater with four churches and had a great time)

Sunday service (working with the team) and then Grandparents house, then the other grandparents the next day!
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

Wait, yesterday was Good Friday?

I celebrated by um...playing around in the Pokemon Dream World (I got a Farfetch'd!). And eating a frozen dinner of beef stroganoff.

I guess all in all it was a pretty good Friday, as far as Fridays go.

Friend that was supposed to meet me at church today to sit together overslept and missed the service.

During service, I was crying b/c of another holiday alone. This nice lady came and sat w/ me the whole time. She said she understood b/c she hurts too.

God definitely provided comfort to me through this lady right when I needed it.

Though now I am sad again b/c I am alone for Easter --empty apartment all to myself. Can't treat myself and go out to eat b/c I lost my debit card. :(
