Prayer for an old family friend

Postby Atria35 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 6:35 am

My family recieved news today that someone we considered a family friend passed away due to a heart attack. He had been deeply involved in my girl scout troop, I was somewhat friends with his daughter, he had helped us with house renovations/repairs, and overall was a great guy.

Please pray that his family will find comfort in their time of need.

I'll be praying.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.

Thanks, Topaz.

Bad news was compounded today by my mother getting news that she's been laid off. It's really hard, since she's only had this job for a year, and was unemployed for the year before that. So things are going to get tight back at the house. I'm praying she doesn't fall into a depression like she did last time.

No problem. Ouch, that has to be tough! If my mom ever lost her job, we would probably loose our house. Another reminder I need to get off my lazy behind and find a job of me own. Sorry things are so tough on you right now, I'll still be praying for you and your mom as well as your friend's family.

It's okay. I just reeealy wish she had waited until the weekend to tell me. Not on Monday, when I have a whole week of studying and quizzes and papers to do. Now I won't be able to concentrate properly. And I really, really have to this week.

Aaaand now my father has apparently fallen down the stairs and hit himself in the head really hard. He's had a stroke so has some brain damage in the first place, so this isn't exactly a good thing. He also is refusing to go to the doctor for it.

Much appreciated, Kunoichi. Just going to clarify that the stroke was a pre-existing condition, but it's not a good think to go around bonking your head when you already have brain damage ><" And since it was hard, and he refuses to go to the doctor, we're afraid of a concussion or something along those lines.

Ouch! I'll still be praying. Hope everything will be alright!

Thanks, guys. Things have eased up a bit, thank goodness, and it looks like the fall hasn't done any damage, but it was scary for a bit.
