The Most powerful Sword

Postby DragonSlayer » Wed May 12, 2004 12:32 pm

There are hundereds of swords across the Fantasy plane, very powerful swords indeed, which bring to yet another thread of mine concerning swords, not the same one twice, jsut a different, one, so, what in your opinion is the most powerful; sword, in this world or Fantasy books, games, ect ect.

well as soon as I saw this thread, I was going to Sansouke's Zanbatou from Kenshin but seeing at it's from FF....I really like the Gun Blade in FF8.

Gotta be Masamune. Xcalibur (sometimes spelled properly as excalibur) comes close, but speaking in pure damage terms (which, for the masamune, means a whole heck of a lot! ), plus ease of use (in most games, anyone can use masamune. Thats one of the things thats so great about it), Masamune is definately top.

Edit: oops, saw that Fantasy was capitalized, and my mind automatically added Final. guess I've been playing a little much FF. I'd still say Masamune, however.

(I just tweaked the title a bit)

The Demon Sword from Lodoss was pretty powerful ... then there's the Granasaber from Grandia II.

I would have to say Cloud's Ultima Weapon.

My friend and I laugh about how you defeat Ultima Weapon to get Cloud's ultimate weapon, called Ultima Weapon.

But seriously. Look at it! It must be made of pure diamond!

And I would definitely NOT say Sano's zanbatou. Kenshin sliced it in two with his sakabatou. It appears to be somewhat brittle.

Dragon's Tooth from Deus Ex 1.

It's made out of nano-machines, and it sharpens itself for rest of eternity. How can it be bad?

Sano's Zanbatou seems like a chiseled piece of rock to me. He himself said it hasn't been sharpened for centuries.

Sano's sword is massive, if it fell on someone they'd be a pancake.

My pick: Lightsabers  Can't beat the sound or the coolness factor. Although I do love Tidus's water sword in FFX too.

I'd like to point out that neither dragons tooth from Deus Ex or lightsabers are fantasy weapons. Not that they aren't cool, but they're kinda outside the realm of this discussion.

I dunno, I dont think alight saber would do anything to teh magicly enhanced swords of the fantasy world anyway.
