The Secret of Kells: Your thoughts

Postby rocklobster » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:10 am

I just watched The Secret of Kells. I thought it was very beautiful, in a rather simplistic way.
I loved the part where Aisling turned the cat into a ghost-like form to rescue Brendan
. I was wondering who else here has seen it and what you people thought.

The Secret of Kells is probably one of the most beautifully animated films ever made, in my opinion. So yes, I loved it. XD

This movie is amazing, and I actually preferred it to Up! the year they were nominated.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

I liked how they handled it very well! They focused on the stroy, and the voices were really fun to listen to!

I loved it! I've watched it multiple times. And that was one of my favorite parts too... My only thing is I wish they would have shown what the book actually was or why it was so significant. I had to google it later... Maybe not say exactly what it was but it just seemed like it was any book and the only reason this one was special was cause it was illuminated. Maybe stress the importance of it and why they wanted to preserve it this way or something so it felt more than just... oh it's special because of all the pretty inks and stuff.
