Bible Q&A Thread!

Postby TheMewster » Sun Feb 20, 2011 12:13 pm

I was thinking about so many of the Bible's mysteries. I'm sure you are too. So maybe this should be a thread for peoples questions about certain verses or ideas presented in the Bible. So mods, whaddya think? Should we keep this for peoples questions here? Should we move this to testimonies and spiritual growth? Should i just shut my mouth and get on with my life?:sweat:

Debatable (just kidding)
though I do agree this is a good idea, we don't know what specific topics will come up, so we'd have to tread carefully, and every verse usually ends up with a bunch of people sharing their ideas about ________(said passage)

So though I think this would be a cool idea, I think there's much more room for chaos in this thread than productivity. It would likely be a better idea to just ask every question individually, so we know which topic it is and if it's for us to contribute, read, or ignore.
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

At first I wanted to say "This is a bad idea because then people might argue about interpretation and denominational differences and the like."

But then I realized that that's happening anyway when someone posts questions. I mean look at the threads TopazRaven posts. Not to single you out, Topaz, it's just you've posted more religious question threads than anyone else on here. XD;;

I don't think this is a terrible idea, but we just gotta remember how to answer any questions with Love and not to be "Right." X3

I think we should be open to discussing what God's word says, in a polite way. :)

I actually had an idea for something like this pop into my head but it was closer to what Furen was describing then what you've suggested. So, I do think this is a good idea but, yeah, it would probably have to be an individual thread per question just to prevent the chaotic scenario of two or more conversations being held about completely different verses at the same time.

Yeah, I know. I'm just awesome like that. :cool: Kidding, I think that comes from the fact I'm new to Christanity and I'm not afraid to ask questions, even controversial ones. In least not online. If anything it's me who should learn to keep my mouth shut. :lol:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.
