Attention, betta owners!

Postby K. Ayato » Sat Jan 15, 2011 9:08 am

I have a pet betta (or more commonly known as the Siamese fighting fish) named Chico who's been in my care since Oct. 23 of last year. I've taken care of him the best way I know how based on the materials I've read prior to getting him. Change the fish bowl water when it's cloudy, use only spring water, feed him regularly.

My question is, now that it's winter here in VA, why isn't he making a bubble nest anymore? He's still fairly active and responsive, but he's not making bubbles as often per day as before. I moved him to a different section of my apartment as well since Christmas, but he handled it all right.

Thanks!

I make sure there's plenty of heat in the apartment and turn the heater on at night.

I wish I could give you some advice here, but my poor fish never even made it passed a year. It's why I don't own fish anymore, they always die on me.

It's probably the cold weather. He's doing well :). Blowing bubbles again.

I remember having a betta fish when I was a kid. It lasted twice as long as their normal lifespan, in spite of me constantly forgetting to feed it.

I remember putting it in front of the reflective toaster and see it bash itself against the glass to try and attack the new guy trying to get in his turf.

If I remember aright, when I was really little (3 or 4) we had some fish, and there was one named David and one named Goliath. And I'm pretty sure David ate Goliath.

XD I don't think my beta ever made bubble nests. But he did give me lots of attitude.

my sisters Beta has never done anything like that... Though we live in Canada as well
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.
