Favorite Mecha Designs

Postby TheSubtleDoctor » Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:50 am

Just what it says on the tin: What are some of your favorite mecha designs? Images are pretty much required =). I'll throw one out there to start us off.

I'm a pretty big fan of this later iteration of Gurren Lagann

...

No offense but my desire to watch Gurren Lagann just dropped even lower.

Anyways. Favorite mecha designs!

I quite like the RX-78-2, better known as Gundam:

I also like Voltron/GoLion:

shiroi, you don't know what you're missing w/ TTGL.

King Gainer looks pretty awesome, and I am also a fan of RX-78-2.

I also like Big O, but I can't find a good picture of it. And yeah, Wing Zero is pretty cool-looking.

As awesome as all the others are...

...I've gotta put a plug in for the Megas Xtra-Large Robot.

Also, since we can't talk about giant robots without Super Robot Wars, here's the Alteisen.Image

And the Daizengar/Daigenguard/whatever-Aussenseiter combination.

And now that I'm not at work, I can perform my dark arts.

Nirvash typeTheEND's already been covered, I guess. Personally, I think Wing Zero Custom is kinda goofy because of the feathers.

I've always liked the stark simplicity of the OZ-00MS Tallgeese and its successors (Tallgeese II and III, Vayeate, Mercurius).

Image

I also really like the alternate colour scheme for the Titans' version of the RX-178, kind of like the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Banshee.

Image

But my favourite is still the MSN-06S Sinanju, which is like a more awesome version of the MSN-04 Sazabi.

Image

And of course, my favourite non-mecha mecha, Nanoha "White Devil" Takamachi, Raising Heart, the CW-AEC00X Fortress, and the CW-AEC02X Strike Cannon.

All very good choices there, sir. Sinanju? Totally cooler than Sazabi. I mean look at it. It's wearing a dang Zeon uniform.

This. I'm also a pretty big fan of the Nirvash as well, though I don't really like the final form.

im gonna have to agree with you there: while it had a good shocker ending for a shoujo manga, other than that, the show/manga was generic magical girl.
with awesome mecha/

Design wise these would definitely be my favorites. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann too, but an image of that was already posted.

favorite mechas... uhm... well, I really like prettymuch anything that can be immagined from Armored Core
http://ui20.gamespot.com/19/armoredcorewallie2copy_2.jpg
wait... scratch that. I suppose, if someone really tried, they could make a really ugly mech. Oh! but you all wanted something more specific... well, I am a Mechwarrior after all... and just on looks... then the Uziel
http://www.classicbattletech.com/images/gallery/Tactical_Operations_cover@1024x768.jpg
but there is so many to choose from... and others on performance... oh! but you wanted anime/manga mechas... uh...

Japan's Battletech??? :?
Alright, actually, if I could pick a favorite Mecha (not mechwarrior battle mech) it would probably be The Lancelot from Code Geass... even though I hate the anime.
