Specifics for Hetalia: Axis Powers

Postby Sissy » Thu Dec 02, 2010 9:19 am

Hi, all. :)

So, I joined this forum for the express purpose of asking: exactly what offensive material is in Hetalia: Axis Powers? I've tried searching for synopses, keyword searches, and customer reviews, trying to find specifics, but pretty much all I know for sure is that there is some innuendo, and that there are several episodes that should probably be skipped. Opinions seem to vary as to how much of the innuendo is in the mind of the viewer, and how much simply can't be taken any other way.

If somebody could tell me exactly what the level of innuendo is, as well as if there are any instances of language or questionable spiritual content (I believe I read somewhere that England has "fairy friends," but I'm not sure if that was for the manga), then I would be very grateful. :) At its least offensive, would the best episodes of this show be appropriate for a 12-year-old?

Oh, and I'm asking about the subbed version, not the dubbed one. One thing I have found out is that the dub is at least slightly more offensive than the sub.

Thank you!

Never mind. :) I managed to cobble together enough info to watch some online, and I was pleasantly surprised. There's much less innuendo than I expected (although there's also a bit more swearing), and, overall, it's a fun little show.

So thanks anyway, and sorry for cluttering up the forum with a useless thread. ;)

Hey, just saw your post today. Though it looks like you've made up your mind already. XP
Funimation's offical website has all of hetalia and the world series I belive, and I've enjoyed all that I've seen of it so far. Most negative stuff connected with it is fan-generated.
