Mother's Wisdom

Postby Locke » Sat May 08, 2004 10:48 pm

since mothers day is 2 hours away ( already in some states) i thought we could share the wisdom our moms have given to us over our smoochin off her food and money :P

heres what my mom has told me :

• Don't make that face or it'll freeze in that position. ( )
• Be careful or you'll put your eye out. ( :eyebrow: )
• What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it, too? ()
• You have enough dirt behind those ears to grow potatoes! ( i love this one)
• Close that door! Were you born in a barn? ( maybe i was!!)
• If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. (but i can think it!)
• Don't put that in your mouth; you don't know where it's been! (u dont know either)
• I know there’s a floor somewhere under those clothes, find it! ( :mutter: )

and to all the moms out there...

...you just have to outrun the halfling.

I don't think I've gotten any wisdom sayings from my mom. Oh well.

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers! And if you're not a mother...

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Just kidding.
Don't make me hit you with my pocketbook

My mom told me:

"Always walk a girl to the door after a date to make sure she gets inside safely.

Not that I had any dates during that time.

And I overheard her tell my younger sister:

"Watch how he treats his mother, that's the way he will eventually treat you."
"The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending, then having the two as close together as possible."

Well, I wanted to start a "Happy Mother's Day!" thread, but considering this one already existed....

Happy Mother's Day!

I consider my mother one of my heroes. Therefore, you can probably see I really appreciate a day that celebrates motherhood.

I just want to bring attention to a few special individuals, my mother (of course), and the rest of the mothers in the CAA, which includes the lovely true_noir_chloe.

If there are any other mothers in the CAA, please, post in this thread so that we can show our appreciation for the hard yet wonderful work you do.
Find me on Steam, PlayStation Network (OmegaAmen), Backloggery, Twitter, and Twitch.tv

I am also in the Christian gaming group, Tribe of Judah in the Christian Gamers Alliance.

Even if I remember nothing else, I'll never forget some of my mother's sayings:

"Do it right the first time!"

"Be careful of the rind!" (in reference to eating a bacon sandwich)

...I'll think of more later.

I was told the same thing. :)

Things I learned from my mom:

Hand-me-downs never go out of style, never.

Never look board or you will find your self very busy.

"Stop complaining, before I give you something to complain about!!!"

Well, and every thing else that was already listed.

Happy Mothers day!!! (day after!!!)
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
