Now, it's been several years since I read this book, but it's really looking like they're going to add more unnecessary junk that does nothing for the characters. That "side adventure" in Prince Caspian where they invade the castle made Peter seem like a total jerk, and it was completely out of character. It seemed more Anakin Skywalker than Peter Pevensie, in my opinion.

And are they STILL doing that whole "White Witch never really dies" thing? Because they really need to find other things to fill up a two-hour plot with.

I didn't see any shots of a dragon, but I did see some random chick telling them that "blah blah blah fate of Narnia" junk that I really don't remember from the book. This worries me.

Yeah... the quality of these films seems to be slowly deteriorating. It's rather sad. But I'll still probably end up watching it...

As I've said on NarniaWeb, it looks quite good but it's not really VDT.

Still looks better than the last 2 movies... I'm sorry, I was super excited for LWW... the trailer was great. The more I watch that movie though, the more I hate it. And it has nothing to do with the adaption from book to film. The adaption was fine. What sucked was the directors vision of that adaption. Narnia did not seem like a magical place. It seemed like a normal world with talking animals... There was just no creative aspects to the production at all... But I must give credit where credit is due. The only scene that felt like a Narnian scene was inside the faun's house. The design of that was fantastic and the little tune and everything... great scene, great look, great vision there. Everything else sucked. The forest should have been more cartoony or had some kind of whimsical feel to it. It did not. The white witches Castle was a COMPLETE missed opportunity. The shot from far away did look good. Inside and the stone graveyard looked boring and uninspired. There was not style, no feel to the whole movie.

Don't even get me started on number 2... talk about LOTR lite. Again, no problems with the adaption. There were some unnecessary additions and I thought the more interesting parts of the story were cut. But still.. my main problem... lack of vision, lack of style.

This SO FAR at least FEELS a bit more narnian by the look. Yeah there's a lot of CGI I don't have a problem with that when it's done right. The Peter Pan movie from a few years ago was saturated with CGI... yet the whole tone and look totally fit the story and it was completely fine. So hopefully they do that here... though I prefer more creative ways to get a unique look than just jumping on to CGI but I have to accept that this just isn't gonna happen today anymore. Oh Stardust was a great film that was pretty CGI heavy... but they had the whole look and tone and feeling down... it was whimsical and magical. Like it really wasn't on this earth. Narnia looked like this earth with some CGI animals and that's it.

I'm hopeful for this film though. The trailer has given me hope. It's CGI heavy but it fits a lot better than the last two movies IMO. Although this is just a trailer. I thought the trailers for the others were great too. But this is my favorite book so I have my fingers crossed the new director will breathe some kind of life into these uninspired movies.

/rant =D

Oh... and:

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I don't mind 3D when it's REAL 3D... like Avatar. But screw this converted crap.

My ichiban hate from LWW? The White Witch's costumes. Absolutely terrible.

My ichiban hate from PC? Making Peter look like a total d-bag.

Man, it's been forever since I've seen it, but I remember being more annoyed with Caspian than Peter for the whole castle thing. Caspian started telling Peter how his plan was terrible and stuff when Caspian was the one who screwed it up.

Though, Voyage of the Dawn Treader didn't really have much of a plot. They go to the new island, check for a new lord, and deal with whatever is on the island. Again, I haven't read Dawn Treader since like third grade, but I remember liking The Silver Chair a lot more.

Edit:Oh yeah, I should probably comment on the trailer. The whole Fate of Narnia thing is strange, since the plot wasn't save the world or anything. Did Lucy have a bow in the book? I can't remember.

Maybe they're gonna meld two books into one, so that they will have a plot for this movie. Or... they're gonna make up filler, like they did for the first two movies. Not that it was bad filler- it was very well placed and helped make the story more adult and stuff, but it was still there.

When did the first movie have filler, besides the ultra-brief part at the beginning?

Added dialogue, expanded scenes, lost narrative... I said that it was added inconspicuously! It wasn't obvious. That made it good.
