Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Postby GracefulRocker » Mon May 03, 2004 12:43 pm

In 10 years I see myself as a brand new Pre-K teacher learning the ropes. :eyeroll: I'll possibly be looking for a husband  , and living as much as I can while I still have my youth.

Where do you think YOU will be in 10 years?

Hopefully I'll be an associate pastor at a parish in Phoenix, but I wouldn't mind being in Northern Az. around Prescott or Flagstaff.

Realistic. . . . maybe: working as a gaphics designer for Nintendo and riding around in one of those cute little scooters. . . and probly not maried yet ^.^;;

unrealistic: I'll never go to college I shall survive on my cutness alone wandering the streets of Tokyo and playing my guitar on the street side with a hat for people to put money in

Realistic: I see myself running a Dojo dedicated to Shaolin Kenpo Karate, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and various training in martial weapons and whatever other forms of Martial Arts we wish to learn. We will (hopefully) have two beautiful children named Connor William and Alayna Kathleen. I want a decent sized house (three bedroom, two bath, et cetera) somewhere in suburban New England (New Hampshire or Maine, preferrably) decorated in a lot of Japanese-esque furniture and artwork.

Fantastical: I AM A L33T MOVIE ACTION START! I've studied dozens and dozens of types of Martial Arts and have the equivalent of a 9th Degree Black Belt in all of them. Chuck Norris, Steven Segal, and Jean Claude Van Dam CRY IN HORROR when they see me, let alone sneeze. Oh, and I'm the highest paid female actor - toppling Julia Robert's reign. ALL BOW BEFORE MY KICKING-BUTTNESS! :thumb:

2) Established a part time mangakaing career, formed some type of alliance with other members here (E.g. Christian Manga Team, Christian Video Game Company or Animation Company) AMEN, everyone?
3) Actively and joyfully serving in a church ministry (probably youth, music or counseling)
4) Still an active member of CAA (finally received "The Decade Award" along with all of you! XD )

I'm blinded by your optimism Ingemar ;)

Realistic: Married. If not, either a missionary in Japan or a character designer for Squaresoft.

Unrealistic: A multibillionaire living on a small, private tropical island along with my monkey butlers by daytime, crime stopping superhero(ine) by night. Tights will be optional, but the cape is a sure-fire must have.

Let's see, where do I see myself in ten years...

Well, in ten years, I'll have graduated from Bible college, gotten married, earned my Master's of Divinity degree, have about two kids, and will have been pastoring the church I'll have planted, as well as have raised up other church planters to start other churches. Itinerant ministry within the US will also be happening, possibly the main ministry avenue being prophetic presbyteries, conferences, and revival meetings. I also will have gone to several countries to preach and minister in prophecy, revival, healings, and miracles, as well as the occasional recreational trip with the wife and kids.

That's what I'm envisioning anyway, things are always subject to change under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Peace,

Jose

In ten years? hmm. . . Maybe having an early midlife crisis.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I'll (hopefully) be happily married, perhaps with some children of my own, and working part time at a musuem of fine arts as a curator of Italian Renaissance art/sculpture. Or a tour guide for said musuem.

On the side, I would love to be teaching children's church and continuing to serve the Christian community through my best friend and I's media company (starting this summer).

What do people do when they're 21? List afew things and I'll pick one of 'em. Just kidding. I was originally thinking of being a videogame creator. You know, Making the story of the game and stuff. I'm not real good at computers. :(

Tidus, not to bring you down or anything but... there are probably about a million kids in the US that dream of having that job, but the only way to get it is to work your way up in a game-designing company by doing a different job. I dunno I guess there could some extremely rare case where programmers, sound engineers, music writers, and graphics experts all get together and say "were bored and have no creative talent so we're going to hire someone from outside to tell us what to do for the next few years"

oh cool i love this stuff, in 10 years I'll be a 4th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do with my own school either in Brazil or in S. Korea.
Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you

Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life :sniffle:

I'll be 27 in 10 years.

By that time, I'd realistically be sitting in front of lots of people at E3, describing the next game I'm to develope and show a demonstration of sort, and some video footage. Really, really realistically. I've been programming to be a game developer/programmer since I was 8... No way I'm giving up now. If I spent 9 years waiting and practicing programming, I can wait a few more.

What I'd really want though, is already retired by 27 and still making games as a hobby, with enough funding to boot me for next 100 lifetimes over and over, even if half of my stash is donated to various needy places.
