my own senior skip day

Postby Hitokiri » Thu May 06, 2004 9:51 am

If you dont know what a senior skip day. It's where all the seniors skip school. Well they abolished it at school cause well the school board hates us.

Well I have a doctors appointment at 10 for a certain probelm which i will not discuss here (not bad though) and I convinced my mom to let me skip the rest of the day.

I know i wont get in trouble cause my mom did call me out of school and they keep me on the list and dont expect me to come back.

I'm enjoying my day off school (first time i ever didnt go to school besides sickness)

Aren't senior skip days supposed to be unofficial? Mine was, at any rate. The whole senior class picked a day, and didn't come, without any approval or disapproval from the school board.

I mean, technically it's not a "skip" day if you're supposed to be gone. ;)

well yeah

heres what the school board did.

They said if more than 20% of the senior class is gone, we don' get out May 28th and we have to stay till June 4th. Sure that doesn't seem that far apart but we won't have anything to do at school since it will be exams after the 28th.

The cities school system is top notch but lets see how to put this...the leaders are idiots. They watse money ask for more money and waste it buying computer for all the teachers. They were planning in the starting of the year of having prom at our school :mutter: but the Junmior and Senior class raised enough money to have it some place nice.

Then they wanted to have graduation at the school (they have it at this nice place usually...where most concerts ate held) but the Senior Class decided to pay for the costs for graduation there and not the school. I like our principal though.

He's very cool.....he worked very hard in allowing us to have those privledges but he couldn't get the board to allow us to have senior skip days.

Senior skip day is pretty funny at our school (public high school) 'cause most of the class doesn't know about it until the morning it is scheduled for. We find out about it when our principal gets on the PA system and announces that it is in fact senior skip day and that any and all seniors who think this is a good idea and participate will be given saturday detentions and the like.
