Lady GaGa and her Illegal Anime Eyes

Talk about anything in here.

Postby thisiskris89 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:34 am

to make a correction lady gga wasnt wearing the contacts, her eyes were digitally altered. however they looked like the contacts which kinda brought alot of fame to the contacts. since they are not legal we dont know who's maiking them and everyone has different size corneas so the contacts can fit unproperly and damage the eye and stuff.(from what i gathered)

Also what i ment before was for me personally, some people have bigger eyes than others.i think my eyes are kinda big, but the part of the eye the contacts make look bigger is un-natural,atleast i dont think anyone has eyes like that.

anywho i just thought this would be an interesting thing to post^^
much love my friends^^

I wear my contacts all the time... >_> I sleep with them in...probably shouldn't do that XD. I just like being able to SEE when I open my eyes....

But yah these things are like monsterous and they can scratch the eye and the cornea...also I agree with the whole "What if they aren't sanitary when they are made," statement.

I don't sleep with my contacts unless I forget them...It only happened twice. Otherwise my eyes start to hurt.

ALRIGHT.

let me speak on this subject. XD

1. i've seen this on ABC and i've read the article and let me just say as someone who wears these, most of the stuff they said is wrong.

I mean, yes, you can get infections with them, but that's the same thing with any sort of contact lens. If you don't clean them or put them in properly or take them out when they need to be taken out or anything of that sort, you do have a chance of hurting your eyes. but that's the same with prescription ones too. your eyes aren't going to fall out of your head if you wear these.

they are not FDA approved, but they are KFDA approved, which is the korean version of these lenses. the FDA also isn't this high and mighty god anyway. They often approve things that are super dangerous. XD;

also, if you have any concerns with them at all, you can take them to an eye doctor and get your BC (base curve) checked out. that can tell you if the lenses will fit your eyes or not. I showed mine to my eye doctor and he had no qualms about them at all.
he just found them very interesting. XD
I don't wear them everyday. Everything in moderation I believe.

2. I don't even think Lady Gaga is wearing them in the music video. Her eyes were digitally altered to look that way.
Annnnnnd she's DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEFINITELY not the one who started this fad at ALL. i don't even know WHERE they are getting that idea.

see the difference? XD

EDIT: Also, if you stick with the popular brands like GEO and EOS and such, you should be fine. GEO, for example, gives you a lot of information about your lenses. they tell you water content, BC, diameter, and shelf life.

Yeah, that was my first thought. They look WAY bigger than they do the rest of the time. Not just her iris, her whole eye.

Does she wear them other times, or are they basing this off of that scene from the music video? Because if they are, they are very mistaken.

I'd wear those and other colorful contact lenses if my eyes weren't so sensitive. :0 Just not the overly-big, creepy kind. Though probably only on few occasions. Worn glasses for years and really I'm set off by the idea of sticking things into my eyes. e_e;; Like someone before me mentioned; always had a fear I'd lose the contacts in the back of my eye or something like that. >_>;;; So that's the main reason I don't wear em. Lol! Have trouble just putting in eye drops as it is anyway.

Um...Actually, I have a friend who is cute whether or not she wears glasses. As for me, well, it doesn't matter. My glasses are huge rectangular ones, I need contacts because my eyesight is so bad.

I've had glasses since third grade, so about... 13 years, I think. I tried contacts for a year (I like how I look with them better than with glasses), but when winter rolled around it was impossible to keep my eyes hydrated!

But I'd so wear those contacts, preferably colored, if I had the chance.

I just saw this article on CBS Evening News (I only caught part of it) and I was just hoping that they would not mention "anime" because this would really add to the somewhat negative views of anime that some already have.

Oh, and I tried contact lenses for about 24 hours and hated every single minute of it! I am quite content with my glasses, thank you.

I wore glasses for three years, then got contacts and have worn them for the past six years or so. Contacts just seem to work better for me, personally. I have one of those faces that for some reason attracts large, damaging objects, so glasses were kind of a problem for me; however I do still wear my glasses at night when I'm sitting around reading, relaxing, etc.

I think the FDA needs to regulate real life potential dangers in the industry. Stuff like Aspartame and possibly certain food dyes. Especially when backed by legit research.

I'm guessing there is no research for circle lenses. They should do that before making any statements of "oh this is potentially dangerous".

I might wear those contacts for a costume, but I can't imagine wearing them regularly. I don't even wear makeup of any sorts.
